Woodyard has stiff hips. Cant move laterally well. Thats why he sucks at coverage. But his straight line speed is very fast for a LB.

How about giving the Dline some credit? The linebackers were running free all night long due to play of our defensive lineman. It's one of the staples of a Jack Del Rio defense.

Its not like Woodyard gets totally lost in coverage. Its frustrating because often he is close enough to where you think he might make a play on the ball, but he seldom does.

I also guessing he is way over 240.. the guys usually shrugs off tacklers I dislike the guy as a person but as a QB hard to fault him.. |

Exactly....Ben's made better LB's than Woodyard miss, and has shrugged off many more....and while Woodyard might not be the best LB in the NFL...he's one of the best on our team. Until we can acquire a better one, we'll have to hope 12 tackles with a sack per game is good enough.

Not true. We don't pay him utnil the suspension is over. No reason to cut him now.

But But But he has stiff hips.. OMG the sky in falling.. I just love hearing crap like that when they have no logical or valid solutions.. most teams would love to have him on their team.. Most of our members seem to think we have to have pro bowlers at each spot on the field all the time.. but then when it time to pay them they get pissed because we let them leave for more money.. Morons seem to think money grows on trees and forget we all have a cap to live under.. |

All I know is that there's no reason Woodyard shouldn't be solid in coverage based on his physical abilities (unlike Joe "5.0 40" Mays). So he either needs better coaching in that area or he simply lacks the instinct for it. It's hard to say.

DJ is an ass but I think he could give us a boost when he comes back. Why cut him? Now if we draft a young WLB next yr, and Woodyard improves as yr goes on, then yes maybe cut him.

WW was OK in coverage last year - not great but not a huge liability.
The Steelers boast perhaps the best group of receivers in the league(WR+TE) and with Ben's mobility they are very difficult to cover. I think WW will be OK going forward |

Had a team leading 6 tackles - half a sack and one hit on the quarterback.

I wanna see Woodyard and DJ on the field at the same time. Even if that means Mays isn't on the field. |

Has Woodyard played MLB for us? I thought it was Larsen who did.
