We were the only team in the AFC West that looked any good. Seriously, I think if we don't win the West, it will be a disappointment.
Chargers had zero running game and need to thank the Raiders failing at snapping the ball on punts to win. The Raiders just have no offense aside from McFadden The Chiefs...well...yeah...actually have some decent talent but terrible QB with inconsistent playing Broncos, this offense will be a freakin nightmare for opposing teams. Seriously, 4 straight possessions(minus the kneel down to end the 1st half), 4 scoring possessions, 25 points. Against a very decent Steelers defense. The Defense will have a very good pass rush, get early leads, Miller and Doom will feast on QB's. I'm excited this year! |

Well SD is missing Ryan Matthews... And I think they look good. I think it's Denver/SD for the crown.

I wouldn't count anyone except the chiefs and with them cassel and Romeo might be replaced sooner than later, so its still anyone's race to win

I'm excited and encouraged, but will not fall into the trap of assuming that after one week we will clinch the division by November.
Crazy ass overreations, just read some of the game thread for proof. |

I don't see them winning the AFC West over the Broncos. Not right now, based on week 1. |

Yeah, only 1 week and its early, but we look by far better than each of our division rivals. By far.
I mean, the Chargers basically were able to get 9 points due to the Raiders punting woes. They had zero running game, and even the passing game was meh. Gates got injured again too didn't he? Raiders couldn't muster much on offense, even with the decent offensive talent they have. I think both have decent-ish defenses, but nothing spectacular. Chiefs have been plagued again by injuries, and the great Matt Cassell continues to benefit the opposing team. We need to come out on Monday Night and kick the Falcons in the mouth, prove to the rest of the NFL we mean business. |

My thoughts,
Raiders will get a bit better, new coach, probably cut down on the mistakes. Running and physical play will make them hard to beat at the end of the season, I wouldn't be suprised if we split with them no matter how bad they are. Chargers look bad early like they always do. I think that age is finally catching them though, so no matter how well Rivers plays down the stretch I think they finish 8-8 or worse. Turner is a terrible coach, that can't be underestimated. Chiefs look really bad, they could end up with 2-4 wins IMO. I think we drop 1-2 divisional games to whomever but we win the division. |

Week two will tell us a lot more about the west.
I'm not convinced the Chefs are that bad. The Falcons game was 17-17 at the half and Cassel basically **** the bed. Not saying they are a playoff team, but they'll get a lot of players back from injury/suspensions this week. Now if they go into Buffalo and get spanked, well that's another story. I just don't see it with the Chargers. Now they had injuries too (Matthews, the tackle who's name escapes me), but they seem to have depth issues and age issues (Gates looked old to me.) They lack a big play threat at receiver too. As much fun as it was to watch, the Raiders aren't as bad as they looked. Basically, their entire receiving corp is hurt. I think they have the best defensive line in the division (by far), and McFadden (assuming they don't run him into the ground) is a top 4 or 5 back in the league. Their issue is that Palmer isn't anywhere close to a franchise QB anymore (if he ever was.) |

I'll wait until the December winter to see how Peyton is slinging the ball in Denver before I crown them.

The expectation in Denver is that we will be going to the playoffs this year. There's only one sure way to do that: win the division. If we don't win the division, there will be great wailing and gnashing of teeth. |

1 game week 1. I'm excited about our chances but lets let a few weeks go by before we jump to conclusions.

I think we were the only team, in the West, that came to play. Everyone else was going through the motions...

D Will greatness is in many people's imagination because of his untimely death. He had a long way to go to instill fear. THere were times Paymeh was doing a better job than D Will. This includes vs Arizona (Cutler's first win).

Raiders and Chiefs look pathetic.
How Oakland beat the Steelers, or the Chiefs beat the Saints I will never know. When those two go head to head, it might be the battle for the Geno Smith bowl. |

If we lose the game tomorrow, we are almost equal to KC and OAK inspite of having manning as our QB..
And whom did we beat ![]() OAK and PIT..Both are not good teams.. You say as if we are great team...The margin between them and ours is very less. |
