Also, bring him in for a look. Not quite sure Colquitt has the job locked up yet.

Kluwe is awesome and ripped NAte Jackson a new one which ironically fits well with his gay marriage stance. I completely agree someone should be able to address their first amendment rights but also think the player should let his employer know that he is going to make this stance on something that is politically devisive. His 2nd point came across a bit harsh but while I do agree on some of his points, I don't back gay marriage and simply put for me, marriage is between a man and a woman. It doesn't make someone hateful against another group ie. gays but Kluwe sure thinks those that have thought this way (and have for 1000s of years) are somewhat nuts.
Kluwe is the anti-punter. He opens his mouth like he is the boss. If he was the Colts kicker back in the day, he would have told Manning to shut the **** up! |

Maybe I value what marriage means to me and most of society. I am a conservative but I think gays should be able to visit each other in hospitals if they have choosen that person to represent them, buy homes together with loans in each others name (just like a business partnership) and other items. I just don't support gays as if they are man and woman. It is always best for children (and what normally leads after one gets married) to have a mother and a father. We know the stats and it is important. Like I said, live together, boink if they want but I don't agree on being equal in the eyes of marriage. I give them many rights as a citizen but just not the overall umbrella.

Kluwe is hilarious. Also, I'm fairly certain that in 50-60 years, we'll look back at the gay marriage question much like we now look at segregation. Which is to say we'll find it absurd and a black mark on our history. This "moralistic" or "christian" view that marriage has to be between a man and a woman makes absolute zero sense, as does implying that gay marriage will somehow affect the "sanctity" of normal marriage (whatever that is), or that it cheapens "values." It's bigotry, it's hate. And any defending of it is ludicrous.

Oh, and as for the OP, I thought Kluwe went a bit overboard in his word choice this time. He usually comes across very articulate in his writing but I'm not the biggest fan of cussing and it seemed to dominate his writing.

The issue of gay marriage doesn't bother me at all.
If a gay couple love each other and want to be married, they deserve the right to do so....it's as simple as that to me. I don't really see what the big deal is. These days a good percentage of straight marriages end up in divorce....I wouldn't doubt that a lesser percentage of gays would end up divorced than straight marriages. I think that gays value marriage as much as straight married couples....they have had to fight for that basic right and I think it's something that most take seriously. If my daughter ended up being a lesbian and she found someone she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, I would want her to have the right to be married. |

I was not expecting to laugh so much at this, but that was hilarious. I can only imagine what Mr. Burns Jr. might have been thinking as he read this - or learned that the letter became public.

And i'm laughing my ass off that you presume to know that a 50/50 shot of being born into a broken home is better than being raised by a homosexual couple. I'm anxiously awaiting your empirical evidence to support such a claim. People like you try so hard to convince yourselves you aren't bigots, you neglect to realize your very words expose you as such. |

Marriage was invented by humans to control the distribution of power and wealth. The biological imperative has NEVER had even the slightest reliance or dependence on marriage. Offspring are the product of coitus. Marriage is an unrelated factor, correlated to the production of offspring simply by association. Marriage today is about partnership, interdependence and financial collusion. I'm married 13 yrs (in a couple weeks) raising 2 kids with my wife. We produced these kids in a planned, thought out process, and benefit (or suffer, depending on perspective) appropriately. The point is, we chose it=we own it. Regardless of what you, the govt, or any religion have to say about it. I will not willingly stand by and deny others the same opportunity to make their own choices because some artificial definition of relationships that is diluted and warped beyond recognition suits an ideology. Neither will Kluwe. for that he has my respect, despite being a punter and WoW degenerate. |

My claim of stats of not having a man in the home is backed. Check the records of juvenile hall and see that those boys did not have a father figure. Read my post. I already stated I agree they have rights. I just don't think they have marriage rights. |

Having an opinion of what marriage should be does not make someone a bigot. Some people are way too quick to pull out the racist/bigot/homophobe card because they hear an opinion differing from their own. As others have said, in 100 years no one will give the idea of same sex marriage a second thought. The institution of marriage wont crumble, society will not fall apart at the seams (at least not for that reason). New paradigms take time to get used to, forcing them when society is not ready for it is problematic.
I personally, shockingly, am for gay marriage. But my life does not hinge on it. Wont stop me from building a life with whom I want how I want. ![]() |

i think religion in politics should be banned. christian people that force feed their segregation and control over people are the biggest thing holding back the human civilization from real advancement...it all boils down to greed and money in the end and the sad thing is this guy is an active politician and making choices for our country which just proves that America Inc. is on a one way trip down the toilet and its thanks to GOD and all the people that believe in a supernatural force that creates everything yet hates and ridicules all.

Absolutly not the same. One would/could have a direct impact on you the other does not. If your gay neighbors get married how does that have any bearing on your life? Gay people getting married has no relation to how you view your marriage or cheapen your vows. It's amusing that religious people are also the least tolerant. |
