I don't know if its been mention yet, but Drew Brees matched Johnny Unitas, by throwing a TD in 47 consecutive games.

That's a record that's been around for 52 years, which surprises me.

You'd think one of the great QBs of the last 52 years would have broken the record, but then you also realize it only takes one game to break the streak....one game where your RB scores a few TDs and you don't get any passing TDs or you go up against a dominating defense that shuts down the passing game.

Denver Broncos

Chris Humphreys-US PRESSWIRE

Biggest Need: Safety

The Broncos have greatly improved their run defense, giving up just 3.4 yards per carry, but they need to get better at preventing big plays in the passing game.

Rahim Moore is only starting because of an injury to Quinton Carter, and Mike Adams is a slow, aging vet that can be taken advantage of in coverage. Even with Carter in the lineup, this is an average unit at best.

Luckily for the Broncos, this is a strong safety class that will allow them to get younger and more athletic on the back end of their defense.

Adams is a big reason our run D is much better. I would take a blown coverage here and there to keep McFadden bottled up all day.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- For the second time in nine days, the New York Jets announced a season-ending injury to one of their best players. This time, it's wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who will have surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury to his left foot.

Larry Fitzgerald only needs 140 receiving yards to hit 10,000 yards receiving for his career.

That was quick....Fitz only turned 29 years old a month ago.

I'll take St. Louis and the points against Arizona tonight.

Easy money.

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola is expected to miss about six weeks with an injury to his collarbone, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Amendola, injured in Thursday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, suffered what the team believes is a sternoclavicular joint separation. While the injury is expected to sideline Amendola six weeks, he could return earlier.

I know a lot of people wanted to trade Orton for Merling a while back. Maybe he is worth a look, not sure if he qualifies to void the waiver wire.

DETROIT -- Alex Karras' condition has deteriorated and the NFL team he played for is extending its sympathies.

The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News reported the former All-Pro defensive lineman and actor has been given only a few days to live because of recent kidney failure.

Former Detroit Lions defensive star Alex Karras is at home, spending his final days with his family.
Craig Mitnick, Karras' attorney in a lawsuit against the NFL, says Karras may be dying from kidney failure because his body has caught up to the dementia he suffers from. Mitnick says the family hasn't yet decided whether his brain will be donated to research the effects of head injuries in football.
The 77-year-old, former All-Pro defensive tackle and actor was surrounded by his wife and kids on Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles.
Karras later joined "Monday Night Football" as a broadcaster and had a well-known appearance as Mongo in the 1974 movie "Blazing Saddles" as well as the 1980s sitcom "Webster."

That's brutal. I've heard that steroids make ligaments weaker, but really, anyone can tear an ACL.

The hit on him was dirty, imo. Uncalled for by the Jets lineman.
