Not sure why the Cowboys released Levy Adcock, but that kid can play. He would make a great #2 swing tackle if given a year on the practice squad.

Much, much better than the Tackles and Guards on our second team O-line. The kid can play, and i'm not sure if he has been fighting injuries or what.

Surprised there isnt more talk in here about Cooley. We have several TE already but with Jthomas not panning out, green about to suspended, and you know we will carry at least 3 guys...

Now we all know Shanahan loves a good pass catching TE and he has a young, inexperienced QB that needs short range targets. So why is Shanny dumping him? I think his injuries are mounting and he isn't what he used to be.

This article seems to indicate that this the classic veteran 1st cut to let him catch on somewhere else.

"Coach Mike Shanahan said the decision came down to a matter of playing time. Fred Davis, who had a breakout year in 2011, has emerged as the new starting tight end, relegating Cooley to utility duty as a backup at both fullback and tight end during preseason.
"He wants to start. He wants to play," Shanahan said. "And we'll see if he gets that opportunity.... Shanahan said Cooley's release wasn't about health or money.

He was hurt a lot last year so I am not saying that isnt involved here. But if this is to be believed, then we should have a look. He can be our starting FB all day and, if healthy, pushes Tamme and Dreesen as a #1 TE as well
