I think teams catching on to the Wildcat hurt his effectiveness as well. And don't forget that Ricky Williams guy he was splitting carries with. I'd like to see what he can do in Norv's offense before I write him off.

He's a proven RB who is now a backup and will have to carry the load for a couple of games (possibly). What's the big deal? Not that this is a winning team anyway.

They might not be but you can make a pretty good case that their careers have been in respect to the talent they have.

Why? They're very good players. Maybe a little injury prone but otherwise, they're arguably the greatest RB duo on the league.

They are a lot better than brown. Wiliams has done 1500 yds and 15 TD s while Stewart has rushed for more than Brown as a backup. You can decide for yourself. Brown has never been close to his draft status and been below average last 2 to 4 years.

At my fantasy football draft tonight, I talked to a bud who is involved with Toledo's football program.

He told me that the Broncos told Eric Page that they would be bringing him back next year to give him another opportunity.

They were pleased with what they saw from him in the OTAs and the mini-camps and were pretty bummed out when he blew out his ACL right before training camp.

I'm still pissed about that....nobody has stood out in these preseason games and come close to claiming the return job as theirs....Eric Page would have made some plays in the return game and locked a roster spot down.

Page doesn't have speed to burn and he depends on his lateral movement to make plays, so I'm hoping the knee injury doesn't rob him of that fraction of a second of speed and special lateral movement he needs to have a chance in the NFL.

Now it's time for someone else to step up and make some plays in the return game to help us this season.

49ers running back Brandon Jacobs suffered what at first appeared to be a severe left knee injury in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Texans. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that his X-rays came back negative, though, and Jacobs is scheduled for an MRI on Sunday.

Coach Jim Harbaugh explained in his post-game press conference that Jacobs’ ACL and patellar tendon are intact, which is a very promising thing. While Harbaugh conceded that Jacobs will miss time, he said the injury is “not [of] the you-don’t-come-back-from variety.”

glad we play them in game 6, Hell might not be in game shape in week 11 or one could hope..

Ronnie Brown isnt what he was. I hope he can be effective but it will be a RB by committie for about 4 games. Brown doesnt have near the explosiveness of Mathews.

Mathews getting dinged too often is a concern because he is just nails when he is able to play and he was in great shape and ready to go.

Losing Vincent Brown is going to sting too. Just hope Royal can stay healthy.

You might not have noticed but we have a REAL DC now, who is dedicated to stopping the run.. acquired several for lack of a better term Biggies to play on the DL something this franchise has never done.. Save the browncos what a cluster **** that was..
