And I think they feel confident they can roll with Brown, McClain and Hester for 3-4 games. |

Looks like Barry Church is now the starting free safety for Dallas.
I was shocked when he went undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was a great player at Toledo and then stuck around on the Cowboys roster for the last 2 years, doing pretty well when given the opportunity. He is more of an in the box safety, but I think he can cover better than he is given credit for and it seems as if the Cowboys have noticed that in training camp. |

Giants DT Shaun Rogers is out for the year with a blood clot. Hope he is ok. B Manning do you still think we should have picked him up over Bannan?

Do you guys have McClain slimmed down so he can play tailback, or bulked up to play fullback? I loved him at tailback when the Ravens used him that way. I don't understand why he hasn't gotten another chance since then. I hope you guys aren't counting on Mathews to somehow stay healthy the rest of the season after he gets back, and I don't know how much Ronnie Brown has left.

Weeden looking pretty good. He has crap for wide receivers.
Ryan looked good, and had wonderful stats 18 of 21 for 124 yards 1td Dalton to Green is here to stay. 50 yard TD pass and catch. |

Most likely so. How bored are people on this board that he has managed to string them along now almost 8 pages into that Poe thread? It'll most likely turn out to be a very bad pick. End of story. Yet the thread keeps going and going. Amazing.

Ronnie Brown as a backup should be just fine. He might even be fine carrying the full load. He's getting a lot of praise for how well he looks so far. |

Tony Gonzalez says this will be his last season playing in the NFL.
Statistically he is the best TE of all time, but the dude has never won a playoff game. I'd rather have Shannon Sharpe's career with some gaudy numbers, 3 Super Bowl rings and also make the Hall of Fame than own all of the tight end receiving records without ever winning a playoff game. That said, Tony Gonzalez has some insane numbers and he is still producing while getting ready to start his 16th season. Right now Tony Gonzalez has: 1,149 receptions for 13,338 yards and 95 TDs. He will most likely end up with over 1,200 receptions for over 14,000 yards and over 100 TDs. The 1,149 receptions rank 2nd all time for all players, behind only Jerry Rice. Pretty awesome stats when you think about it, but I'd still take Shannon Sharpe's career over Tony G's. |

NFL.com says that Dwayne Bowe signed his tender.
There was never much of a question about whether Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe would sign his $9.5 million franchise tag tender. The only question was when. That was answered Friday when the Chiefs announced that Bowe signed on the dotted line. The timing is very logical. The Chiefs just wrapped up training camp, which any veteran is happy to avoid. Bowe still has more than three weeks to get ready for the season opener. Kansas City has a new offensive system this year under coordinator Brian Daboll, but it shares many of the characteristics from the Charlie Weis days in Kansas City. Like most holdouts, this one caused a lot of unnecessary chatter. He was always going to show up. We doubt he'll get the gigantic contract he's looking for in Kansas City, so he's playing for a contract once again in 2012 for one of our favorite sleeper teams. |

I think teams catching on to the Wildcat hurt his effectiveness as well. And don't forget that Ricky Williams guy he was splitting carries with. I'd like to see what he can do in Norv's offense before I write him off. He's a proven RB who is now a backup and will have to carry the load for a couple of games (possibly). What's the big deal? Not that this is a running team anyway. |
