Do you guys have McClain slimmed down so he can play tailback, or bulked up to play fullback? I loved him at tailback when the Ravens used him that way. I don't understand why he hasn't gotten another chance since then. I hope you guys aren't counting on Mathews to somehow stay healthy the rest of the season after he gets back, and I don't know how much Ronnie Brown has left.

Weeden looking pretty good. He has crap for wide receivers.

Ryan looked good, and had wonderful stats 18 of 21 for 124 yards 1td

Dalton to Green is here to stay. 50 yard TD pass and catch.

I think it is a real take, I'm mean a few years ago he thought Croyle would be better then Flacco.

Most likely so. How bored are people on this board that he has managed to string them along now almost 8 pages into that Poe thread? It'll most likely turn out to be a very bad pick. End of story. Yet the thread keeps going and going. Amazing.

I think McClain is how he's always been. He can play either position well. The thing with guys like him or Tolbert is that they're just not explosive enough to be a feature back.

Ronnie Brown as a backup should be just fine. He might even be fine carrying the full load. He's getting a lot of praise for how well he looks so far.

Tony Gonzalez says this will be his last season playing in the NFL.

Statistically he is the best TE of all time, but the dude has never won a playoff game.

I'd rather have Shannon Sharpe's career with some gaudy numbers, 3 Super Bowl rings and also make the Hall of Fame than own all of the tight end receiving records without ever winning a playoff game.

That said, Tony Gonzalez has some insane numbers and he is still producing while getting ready to start his 16th season.

Right now Tony Gonzalez has: 1,149 receptions for 13,338 yards and 95 TDs.

He will most likely end up with over 1,200 receptions for over 14,000 yards and over 100 TDs.

The 1,149 receptions rank 2nd all time for all players, behind only Jerry Rice.

Pretty awesome stats when you think about it, but I'd still take Shannon Sharpe's career over Tony G's.

I don't know, man. I thought he was a great signing in Philly last year and I had wished the Broncos had gotten him. But he was terrible. Just awful and the fans here hated him. In addition to mediocre to poor play he made a stupid mental mistake that cost the team a game. They couldn't wait to get him out of here. He was so bad they tried to dump him during the season but the trade fell through when the guy the got failed his physical.

He was a bad fit in Philly's offense. I can see him doing good (not great) in Norv's offense.

He was good 5 years ago. Only his rookie year and the year after. He was never the same after knee injury kind of like Cadillac Williams.

NFL.com says that Dwayne Bowe signed his tender.

There was never much of a question about whether Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe would sign his $9.5 million franchise tag tender. The only question was when.

That was answered Friday when the Chiefs announced that Bowe signed on the dotted line.

The timing is very logical. The Chiefs just wrapped up training camp, which any veteran is happy to avoid. Bowe still has more than three weeks to get ready for the season opener. Kansas City has a new offensive system this year under coordinator Brian Daboll, but it shares many of the characteristics from the Charlie Weis days in Kansas City.

Like most holdouts, this one caused a lot of unnecessary chatter. He was always going to show up. We doubt he'll get the gigantic contract he's looking for in Kansas City, so he's playing for a contract once again in 2012 for one of our favorite sleeper teams.

His years in Miami were good (not great). *shrug*

I think teams catching on to the Wildcat hurt his effectiveness as well. And don't forget that Ricky Williams guy he was splitting carries with. I'd like to see what he can do in Norv's offense before I write him off.

He's a proven RB who is now a backup and will have to carry the load for a couple of games (possibly). What's the big deal? Not that this is a running team anyway.

He would have signed sooner but he kept dropping his pen

They might not be but you can make a pretty good case that their careers have been in respect to the talent they have.

Why? They're very good players. Maybe a little injury prone but otherwise, they're arguably the greatest RB duo on the league.

They are a lot better than brown. Wiliams has done 1500 yds and 15 TD s while Stewart has rushed for more than Brown as a backup. You can decide for yourself. Brown has never been close to his draft status and been below average last 2 to 4 years.
