After finalizing a contract with running back Trent Richardson, the Cleveland Browns reached a deal with their second first-round draft pick, quarterback Brandon Weeden, a league source said Tuesday.

Anyway, in trading WR Louis Murphy to Carolina it turns out the Raiders got a 7th round pick. It appears that Murphy was going to be a camp casualty so they got what they could for him and unloaded his cap hit, which was less than $1 million. Meh. Almost a complete non-event. Per Burger Bill...I'm glad KC drafted Poe even more now.
The news is not as good in Kansas City. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Chiefs and Dontari Poe are “not close” to a contract. The Chiefs report to camp Thursday. In the world of NFL contracts, two days is a long time, especially when deadlines are involved. Both Poe and the team know how important it is for him to be signed in time. Because of the new CBA, there really is no excuse for any rookie not to be signed. If Poe is not with the Chiefs when they begin practice later this week, it will be a mark on both the team and Poe. The only other two rookies who are unsigned are Oakland guard Tony Bergstrom (third) and receiver Juron Criner (fifth). The Raiders open camp Monday. |

I took a load of **** on Raider forums for suggesting that we trade him for some high draft picks (if it was even possible) and go to the utility RB system that's becoming the norm in the NFL now. That way one guy's injury isn't such a blow to the team. Oh well. When he's healthy he's one of the best in the league so hopefully for us he manages to hold up better this year than any before. |

One of the NFL's rockier rookie contract negotiations has ended with a deal for St. Louis Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins.
Citing sources with knowledge of the situation, NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Rams and their second-round pick agreed to terms on Tuesday. |

Here is the two players stats from the last two years.
A) 30 games played, 1632 yards rushing, 85 FDs, 15 rushing TDs, 55 catches, 609 receiving yards, 1 TD B) 20 games played, 1771 yards rushing, 68 FDs, 11 rushing TDs, 66 catches, 661 receiving yards, 4 TDs. Is the drop off that much that you don't feel it would have been better to trade McFadden for huge value and keep Bush? Last edited by DBroncos4life; 07-24-2012 at 08:55 PM.. |

Matt Kalil, the highest draft pick who hadn’t yet signed his contract, got his deal done this morning.
The Vikings, who selected Kalil with the fourth overall pick in April, signed the offensive tackle today, as first reported by Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press. |

The Mike Wallace situation is getting ugly.
The Steelers gave my boy Antonio Brown a nice fat contract to lock him up for the next several years. Still hard to believe that Antonio Brown wasn't drafted until the end of the 6th round in the 2010 NFL Draft. A lot of good players from the MAC get overlooked or undervalued every draft. |

I was looking over Devin Hester's stats today and it made me remember that he has 17 total punt and kick returns for TDs....and the odd thing is that he didn't get as many opportunities in 2008 and 2009 and had 0 return TDs those 2 years.
12 punt returns and 5 kickoff returns for a total of 17 TDs and he has only played 6 seasons in the NFL. That's impressive. |
