Now THAT would be a good decision on his part.

I mean... if you can't stop yourself from building up a good .24 BAL and getting behind the wheel, quitting booze is the logical next step.

HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans announced contract extensions Thursday for general manager Rick Smith and coach Gary Kubiak, rewarding them for taking the team to the playoffs last year for the first time.

Texans owner Bob McNair wanted to maintain continuity with both men in the final years of their current contracts. Smith's extension is for four years, which will keep him with the team through 2016. Kubiak's is a three-year agreement which re-does the last year of his current deal and keeps him under contract through 2014.

A Nevada jury has found Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones responsible for the injuries suffered by two strip club security guards in a Las Vegas shooting in 2007 and ordered Jones to pay $11.6 million to them and to one of their wives.

Thomas Urbanski, who has been paralyzed from the waist down since he was shot, was awarded $9.6 million, according to TMZ. Urbanski’s wife was awarded $750,000 for loss of marital relations. The other security guard, Aaron Cudworth, was awarded $1.3 million.

Pacman is still playing in the NFL for the Bengals.

They will probably try and take or negotiate a certain percentage of his salary that will be taken out to start and pay this money that he owes.

As long as he is making some money and playing in the NFL, he will probably always get a certain percentage of it deducted for this lawsuit.

They will most likely never see all $11.65 million of it.

The fat man, Wade Phillips, is an average head coach, but is one of the best defensive coordinators in the business and is a perfect fit in Houston.

Phillips is a native Texan (as is Kubes). There were/are a lot of chess pieces for Phillips to play with there. I'm sure he will be satisfied and has come to the realization that he is best suited as a defensive coordinator and this is a great place for him to be. I think being the head coach of the Cowboys burnt him out and took a toll on him.

This gig is a lot less stress and he doesn't have to answer to a prick like Jerry Jones.

Thanks....I try and keep this thread up do date as much as possible, as I started it almost 4 years ago.

I don't think moving it into the Ring of Fame section would be a good idea though, as it would get lost and not read and commented on nearly as much as it is here on the general forum.

I really was hoping Kubiak would be the Broncos coach someday. Also you are right when doesn't a Wade Phillips defense play well? He is a true master at putting guys in spots to make plays with good solid team defense.

If he makes money playing football, and they have a judgement, the garnishing of his wages could happen as soon as this yr. What makes you think he can avoid paying? He can appeal, but those don't take yrs and yrs in civil court. Now if a guy hides money, says he has none, doesn't have any etc etc then its tough. But a guy getting a fat game check every week they can find that easy.

“I think (Winslow) feels like he’s been given a breath of fresh air (in Seattle),” the observer said. “He lives in San Diego, and he seems to like it here. Another factor with him is that he just happened to have three monster games against the Seahawks (including a 7-98 receiving day with two TDs in his most recent game vs. Seattle in Week 16 of the 2010 season). When you consider all he cost was a seventh-round pick (that could be upgraded to a sixth-rounder), all you can say is, ‘wow!’ "

Percy Harvin requests trade from Vikings

The fourth-year receiver has requested a trade from the Vikings, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirmed Wednesday. This follows a day during which Harvin hinted about multiple "problems" with the Vikings.

not until the appeals process is over. they'll only garnish his checks at the point pacman shows he won't pay it on his own.

Vince Young at risk by not picking up offense quickly enough

Even while saying he’s satisfied with how quarterback Vince Young has looked so far, Bills coach Chan Gailey admitted Young is having trouble picking up his offense.

VY is either:

A: Not all that smart

B: Doesn't work/study hard

C: All of the above

He's in his 7th year in the league, with his 3rd team. He's been around the block.

He should be able to pick up the terminology and the offense, it's not like he's a rookie in this league.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if the Titans would have drafted local Vanderbilt product Jay Cutler with the 3rd overall pick instead of VY?

I think the logical answer to the above is...

Sadly this is an instant upgrade from Mike and Mike.

I really wish they would stop doing 2 games in one night. It is too late to watch live. I hate watching current games on DVR.
