Also, anytime with a movie like this (following Alien's footsteps), it takes something absolutely epic to get a "wow"

My brother's in film, saw it last night and really enjoyed it. He said it wasn't perfect but at the very least it's a cool movie and you can talk about it for a while afterwards. His film buddies were less enthused.

I might see this movie. I have no unreasonable expectations, as I've never seen any of the Alien movies...

This might be the first time in OMane history anyone could say this, but holy crap, TheRev just took it really easy on someone. Something is really wrong here.

Saw the 3D IMAX version yesterday. It sucked. Characters weren't worth carrying about, efforts to be scary were comical, action was lame. It was a good looking flick, but not worth the $$$.

I was so stoked to see this and walked out very disappointed. The previews were far better than the movie. Wife wanted to see Snow White and I talked her into Promethius. She was not impressed either. Wait for video (my opinion for what it's worth).

It's certainly not a cinematic masterpiece like Alien, but it's definitely worth seeing. I was only disappointed because I went in with my expectations so high.

The movie was just two hours long, but should have been 3 hours so that it could answer all the questions, make you care about the people and set things up real nice for a sequel. It just seemed like the movie was rushed. Every scene was like, "ok, hurry up so we can get to the next scene." They just ran through it without any substance. It looked like a nice colorfull balloon, nice looking outside but nothing inside.

I was seriously let down by this film. The plot was too conventional and predictable. The main characters were all over the map, many whose actions and motivations for those actions don't really make a ton of sense. The secondary characters might as well have "cannon fodder" tattooed on their foreheads for all the development they get. There are some interesting ideas buried in the story, but they seem to constantly be swept aside as the film barrels towards its predictable 3rd Act action sequence finale. Really disappointed. I was looking forward to this film and can't really recommend it.

I feel like the characters and everything weren't supposed to matter. Just to begin the progression to the next planet.
I sure hope I'm not the only one that noticed they weren't on the same planet from Alien. |

For what it is worth, Brian K.rause from Blue Lagoon 2 said it sucked. Now if Leo from Charmed can let us FB friends know it sucked and he starred in Blue Lagoon 2, then you know it must have sucked ass. I will pass on this one.
