I'd say E9 allowing the run to score, and E9 for getting the guy on first, however the runner that was on first is out on the regular 9-6.
For the record, it was definitely an error. The RF camped under it and simply dropped it. The fly was far enough in RF that anyone but Pablo Sandoval would have been able to tag up, and I'm sure that since it was done on a video game, the computer probably calculated speed and throwing attributes and determined that to be the case and awarded the RBI.

You're right about it all depending on how the official scorer goes, but I spoke with my brother, showed him the replay before telling him how the computer scored it, and his response was the same. More than likely the official scorekeeper would have scored it an E9, FC 9-6, and the hitter gets an RBI.

It was a weird as hell play, and if I knew how to upload, I'd load it up here just for ****s and giggles. MLB 12 The Show is amazing, and is by far the most realistic sports game I've ever played, or at least not counting games like Baseball Mogul. It still has some glitches, but unlike other games there are no major issues that make it unplayable or unrealistic, and very few glitches or things that the programming isn't capable of that detract from gameplay. BTW if anyone who plays reads this and wants to set up some games, I'm all for it. I suck, but have found the vs. play almost as enjoyable as Road to the Show.

Justin Verlander is taking a no-hitter into the 7th inning.

He already has 2 career no-hitters.

****....base hit with one out in the 9th inning.

That was a clean base hit.

Tigers beat the Pirates 6-0 on Justin Verlander's one-hitter.

8 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball.

JV: 9 innings 1 hit 0 ER 2 BB 12Ks.

He threw 7 innings of 2 hit baseball in his previous start.

I watched Randy Johnson almost pitch a no-hitter at old Tigers Stadium when he was with Seattle.

That was the closest I've been to seeing one in person.

Damn. Damn damn damn.

My brother and I were talking during that last inning. I should never have picked up that phone. Damn! But no we were discussing this and not only does Verlander have 2 no hitters, how many almost no hitters has he had? He and I can remember 4 separate times when he's carried a no-no into the 8th inning or later in just the past few years.

Verlander is extraordinary. I will put him up against any pitcher in the game today. By the end of his career if he can stay healthy, I'm confident he will be among the all-time greats.

And he's a Tiger.

I watched Justin Verlander's first 2 no-hitters live on tv and watched tonight's game from start to finish.

I was on the edge of my seat from about the 6th inning on tonight, as I realized that JV had no-hitter stuff tonight and the Pirates are a light hitting team.

Throw in the fact that Pittsburgh is in the National League and rarely see Justin Verlander pitch, so they are not familiar with him.

Every pitch is exciting. It was a sinking feeling when the Pirates singled with one out in the 9th....but the Tigers got a needed win and JV is starting to dominate again.

Berkman hurt his knee just catching a throw from SS and left the game, headed back to the DL. Matt Adams was pulled from the Memphis line up in the 4th inning, and is headed to the Cardinals. I'm guessing he'll be the 1st baseman for the rest of the year.

Adams .338 9 HR 27 RBI in Memphis.

I saw Mike Witt and Langston share one on opening day at Angels stadium back in 91 (?). So early in the season that he could only go 8 innings. Still a no hitter for the team.

Detroit pitcher Max Scherzer struck out 15 batters in 7 innings today versus Pittsburgh.

That is the most in the majors in a game this year.

Mickey Lolich set the team record with 16 Ks in a game in 1969.

I'll give the Rockies this. When they decide to suck, they sure don't half ass it.

I totally remember that. Awesome. My most famous spectator moment was sitting near the LF pole when Piazza homered in the first post 9/11 game. My brother was at the Buffalo Bills 35-3 comeback. That's about it. Also saw possibly Ryan Howard's most impressive blast, an upper decker at RFK in DC that was still on an upward plane.

Oh and Curtis Strange stepped on my foot brusquely walking past me while winning the US Open in '88 or something. I was about 13.

Huh. I hadnt thought of it that way. They ARE good at something. Sucking.

Dead last in the pathetic NL west, and a thin game ahead of the cubbies for the worst in the NL. Wasnt this the team that so many pundits thought would win the World Series last year? Didnt Tracy say this was one of the best teams (the best?) he had ever seen this spring?

Errors. Walks. Wild Pitches. Sloppy, uninspired, boring baseball.

Wow. Just wow.
