Dwayne Bowe on the trade market?


In a radio interview, Kansas City general manager Scott Pioli strongly denied a rumor that the Chiefs talked about trading franchise receiver Dwayne Bowe last week.

I fully expect Bowe to eventually sign his tender or sign an extension by the July deadline and be with the Chiefs this season. The fact that he is not going to the team’s organized team activities is really not that big of deal and common practice.

Pioli’s strong denial is another indication Bowe is in the team’s plans.

2011: 1-1
2010: 1-1
2009: 1-1
2008: 1-1
2007: 2-0 Broncos

I'm just not seeing any "dominance" there; Chefs have 4 wins in 5 seasons; Broncos have 6.

Oh... and for the record, the previous 5 seasons are exactly the same...

2006: 1-1
2005: 1-1
2004: 1-1
2003: 1-1
2002: 2-0 Broncos.

So if "recent" is defined as "the last decade"... KC has 8 wins; Denver has 12. If 8-12 is "dominance", please "dominate" us some more.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel did not seem to think WR Dwayne Bowe would be in camp any time soon. "We're going to win with whoever we have," Crennel said. "If he's with us, we'd like that to happen. If he 's not, then we're going to work with the guys we've got here." Bowe isn't participating in organized team activities (OTAs) since he is an unsigned franchise player.

Guess we don't know what Bowe's salary demands are. If he's pushing for a contract not far off from Megatron's new deal, I could see Pioli's reluctance. But his absence will hurt the receiving core significantly if it lasts through training camp and the preseason.

Clearly KFC fans feel like they won the SB if they split a series with us, they consider it a Dynasty if they sweep the series.

Not much else to be happy about after 42 years and counting not playing in the biggest game.
