Since they traded for Demeco Ryans they probably weren't going to go that way anyway.

Losing a Pro Bowl caliber tackle is always a big deal. And the last think Vick needs is to take more hits, the guy already can't stay healthy.

Houston was STOOOOOOPID to give up Ryans for that price.

It seems to me, since Denver never went after anyone other than Mays, that theyre feeling good with where theyre at.

So I hope Irvin pans out.

Police: Lions’ Mikel Leshoure Tried To Eat Marijuana To Avoid Bust
DETROIT LIONS, MIKEL LESHOURE, NFL | COMMENTS

Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was arraigned today after allegedly attempting to eat marijuana in his possession in order to avoid a citation, according to USA Today.

The citation was issued on March 12 when Leshoure was a passenger in a rented 2012 Mitsubishi SUV that was pulled over while driving westbound on I-94 in the southwestern part of Michigan. This was Leshoure’s second run in with the police in regards to a substance related citation.

“My guy stops him, he’s a passenger in the car, you’ll read the report, and when my guy’s approaching the car Mr. Leshoure’s trying to eat it,” Baroda Lake Twp. chief Gary Ruhl said. “It was just enough for personal use.”

Leshoure missed all of his NFL rookie with a torn Achilles tendon. He was drafted to the Lions in the second round and was the 57th pick overall. He won the 2011 CFPA Running Back trophy at Illinois and was also second-team All-American.

Saracens lock Haydn Smith lands 'dream' move to National Football League

Smith, who was born in Penrith in Australia but also played college basketball for Metropolitan State in Denver, has been signed to play the offence position of ‘tight-end’ after the Jets were hugely impressed by the agility and speed of the 6ft 7ins forward during their fitness tests.

“The most prominent test is the 40-yard dash and some agility drills, like a three-cone drill and a 20-yard drill. I managed to run 4.75 seconds for the 40-yard dash, which turned some heads,” said Smith, who joined Saracens in 2008.

...Dan Pompei says the Broncos' acquisition of Peyton Manning, their trade of Tim Tebow to New Jersey, the signings of Alex Smith in San Francisco and Matt Flynn with Seattle, and Shanny's trade up to the #2 pick have created a sense of desperation for the teams that failed to land a big QB fish this offseason.

And the potential outcome of this urgency is A&M passer Ryan Tannehill flying up draft boards, perhaps even into the top five or ten picks to the Browns at four, Dolphins at eight, or the Chiefs at #11. Why? Because it's all about quarterbacks in this league, as the last nine Super Bowls have been won by the Manning brothers (three combined), Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger (two each), Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees (one each).

Adam Teicher says that after having passed up on Joe Flacco, Mark Sanchez, and Josh Freeman in recent years, Tannehill could be the guy that makes KC pounce. As Teicher sees it, the Chiefs roster has few holes, with QB being perhaps the most glaring one.

Every year some team over drafts a QB and this year that QB will be Tannehill. He's a nice prospect with lots of upside. Unfortunately for him, he won't get the huge rookie contract that picks got a few years ago, but if he's drafted high, he will almost certainly be thrown to the wolves so to speak.

It will be hard for Miami to pass on Tannehill, especially with his college coach as their OC. But if they did, then KS for sure would take him. I'm not sold on Tannehill, but he has all the measurables to get drafted high.

Per Chris Mortensen:

As Sean Payton's suspension takes effect next Monday, it is now a virtual certainty that Bill Parcells will not become the interim coach for the New Orleans Saints in 2012, according to team sources.

Joe Gibbs is the only coach I can think of that took a long term analyst position and then returned to coaching. Even then it was only to get his son into the profession.

The Bengals on Wednesday agreed to a one-year deal with former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman, who played for defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer in Dallas, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
