My thoughts exactly. They keep the game interesting for all sorts of folks, too. Explaining an infield fly rule without making you feel like you're 2 years old and all. They're easy to watch when the wife wants to increase her baseball knowledge

My wife enjoys watching Tiger games almost every night with me.

Of all the sports I watch, she seems to enjoy watching Tigers baseball the most.

Part of that is Rod and Mario making it an enjoyable and easy to listen to broadcast for anyone night in and night out.

We've been dating/married for almost 13 years, and I'm always surprised to see her interest in the Tigers and knowledge of baseball grow a little bit every year.

you missed out on the best duo ever to call a game... back in the day, Chuck Thompson and Brooks Robinson used to handle the TV duties for the O's games before the era of the cable sports networks. those 2 were a joy to listen to when i was growing up... both were very laid back and comfortable in their own skins.

seriously, about the only thing more ridiculous than rooting for STL to win another WS is rooting for the Yankees to win another WS.

i know that you're a fan of that team, but even you have to see that something fundamentally is wrong with MLB now. somehow we went from an era of relative parity (from the mid 60's to the mid 90's) back to a time when every world series seemed to feature either the Yankees or the Brooklyn Dodgers or the NY Giants or some combination of those teams.

Most of their WS wins came very early on. Their wins in 06 and 11 were their first since 198282. Before that it was 1967.

Also, they did it with the 11th highest payroll in baseball and $100 mil. less than the Yankees.

I know it's early, but the Tigers looks sharp this spring.

9-1 record and seem to be gelling well as a team.

Justin Verlander is starting where he left off last year.

3 and 2/3 innings with 8 Ks today....basically all 8 outs were Ks.

I'm geeked for the regular season.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Left-hander Andy Pettitte is coming back to the New York Yankees.

Pettitte, who retired before last season, has signed a one-year minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, the team said. If he is added to the major league roster, he gets a $2.5 million deal.

MArio Impemba was with the Angels through the 2001 season. He was paired with Darin Sutton (Don Sutton's son). Good team together but Mario wanted to go back home to Detroit when a TV gig opened up. Sutton went on to the BRewers were he probably grew up for some years when his Dad was a Brewer. See if you can tell why they left at the wrong time to Angels' fans.

Ugh, my stomach turned when I saw that picture, but not for that reason. This would be hell to deal with as a concessionaire. You wouldn't sell a whole lot of them to get proper stock rotation unless you only sold them at a few concessions stands in the park, which means you get less publicity/availability, which results in lower sales.

Question for you guys. Do you think items like this actually draw sales? Would you not otherwise purchase concessions if this item were not available? My thought has always been to offer as little variety as possible (within reason) to save on overhead, because people who buy snacks are going to buy them regardless.

it is a publicity stunt i think. if its designed to be eaten by 3 people, why not just sell 3 regular hot dogs in a box. wouldn't that make the vendors life easier?
