The Denver Post reports the Broncos left free agent Peyton Manning's Friday workout for the team with "diminished expectations" that they will be able to sign him.

Ditto. If nothing else, the guy does his research. Seems a little odd that after everything else this week, he'd sign with them without ever even visiting.

San Fran's a heck of a haul. Especially as PM was getting tired of it after AZ.

The Post reports that the Broncos have been cash-tight in recent years, but Bowlen, no doubt frustrated at his team winning just two playoff games in the past 13 seasons, is willing to push some money around here, dig deep there, maybe even — who knows? — borrow a dollar or two here and there to land Manning.

I never realised that we were struggling that much with money.

EFX did an excellent job of giving Peyton Manning a lap dance when he was here and then they low balled the contract. Manning decided to see other people.

The Titans gave Peyton Manning a lap dance and Bud Adams threw his checkbook at him.

So, what now? "Hey Timmy, how's that throwing motion coming along?"

Do they go after Flynn? God I hope they don't reach for a QB like Weeden in the 2nd round.

I hate to say it, but this has the look of a guy who is wanting a team to give him anything close to what the Broncos can offer so he can choose that team and can look Elway in the eye again.

Ok, now was he talking about the team or fans. Something that big would say a source close to situation. Very well could mean what you guys think but lets not freak out just yet.

I think team had wake up call but team also heard that Manning will make decision Monday or Tuesday. So aren't out of it yet.

He's basically in the notion that the Broncos have diminished expectations because they were not able to get Manning signed yesterday. I never thought we'd have a chance of that anyway. If anything Manning is gonna play this out right to the bitter end.

Yeah, and then he could get right back home to his workouts. I think he left Arizona thinking he didn't want to do it like that anymore or it'd take a month and destroy his routine in the process.

Disagree. We tried to bring him back? For what? Did we expect him to show up at duke withnhisnsuitcase packed?

He could just as easily have signed a contract there.....and saved him the flight to Denver and back again, only to have to fly back one more time after he is showing up to buy a house.

Bringing him back IMO never seemed to be an option or even a consideration because it had no bearing on anything.
