Mort's now reporting that the Titans will have PM throw in the next 2-3 days. We're looking at about another week of this crap. Eat it. Eat it all PM.

2:57 pm Mortensen says Manning will work out for the Titans within 2-3 days, and the Cardinals are basically out; he also says the Seahawks had parked a jet in the Denver area while Peyton was visiting the Broncos, hoping to secure a meeting with the QB.

Either Elway closes the deal today, and Manning signs, or we drop out.
This SF news (if true) will be a kick in the pants. The two " good friends " thing is going to take a hit if Elway thinks he's being played, and this is definitely indications, that is what is happening. Combined with the way Manning stiffed Indy last summer and signed a contract when he knew he had the neck surgery thing coming up but the Colts didn't, it throws trust issues up. Elway and the Broncos will look foolish for continuing to negotiate...either he wants to come to Denver or he doesn't, and we will make a fair offer. Fish or cut bait time! |

Ok... so Lloyd has been offered a contract by SF. IF Manning signs, and Lloyd signs,...that offense is right down deadly.

Sign or go, Elway. Come on. You can do it.
Don't be a tool. |

2:42 pm Mike Sando, who covers the NFCW for ESPN: This does not necessarily make the 49ers a favorite for Manning. It could help explain why the 49ers have not quickly re-signed Alex Smith during the opening days of free agency, despite a longstanding pledge to bring him back for 2012 and beyond. The 49ers' involvement, rather than causing a delay with Smith, might also reflect the state of negotiations. It is possible Smith is asking for more money than the 49ers are offering, leading the team to explore options that could, in turn, bring Smith back to the table.

Manning will get a lot of Eli if he's a niner. Niners giants rivalry would get even bigger. So much for not wanting to play against baby bro.

Anyway... we had no respect for the craziness level this seeds produce and went on and ingested about 12 each. Next thing we now... it's 12 hours later and we are all getting detoxed at an emergency clinic. We have no memory of what happened during those 12 hours other than what witnesses tell us. Pretty funny ****... but because we where lucky. The whole story is for another thread because it's a really long one. |

not sure if this was posted earlier or not but:
Mike Sando, ESPN.com @espn_nfcwest From Mort/Adam: "Cardinals have been informed they would be wise to proceed w/oManning as candidate to join the team." http://tinyurl.com/7oocbu6 171 pages and still going strong, any guesses as to what the final page number will be? |

Sure, but you also have a reasonable price and a reasonable time line. When you see you're getting played, you call. And I mean call in the poker sense of the word. It's time for the Broncos to call and see Peyton's hand. He's not the be-all-and-end-all of the Broncos. Sometimes you close the deal. And sometimes you move on. It's business.

Seriously though, this has been such a crazy week, but I feel confident knowing it's Elway and Fox meeting with Peyton and going through all of this. For some reason, it feels like they will make the right decision one way or the other.
I didn't feel the same way about Josh... |

If he doesn't do this then he is not a closer. The longer the FO team stays in NC the better our chances, but if Manning hasn't signed when they leave, it will be over for Denver. Elway knows that. Taking ourselves out, leaves Tenn ( and maybe SF ) in and hurts Mannings chances to drive the price up for them. Let other teams jump in and get dissed. |
