Seriously though, this has been such a crazy week, but I feel confident knowing it's Elway and Fox meeting with Peyton and going through all of this. For some reason, it feels like they will make the right decision one way or the other.

I didn't feel the same way about Josh...

Getting Manning is a possibility only. Elway will probably ask him straight up if SF is involved. Then Make him our top offer and say take it or leave it, we don't have time for more "play time".

If he doesn't do this then he is not a closer.

The longer the FO team stays in NC the better our chances, but if Manning hasn't signed when they leave, it will be over for Denver. Elway knows that.

Taking ourselves out, leaves Tenn ( and maybe SF ) in and hurts Mannings chances to drive the price up for them. Let other teams jump in and get dissed.

They're close to Baltimore. If Manning doesn't work out, they can fly over and pick up McClain.

Klis backtracking...

Mike Klis ‏ @MikeKlis

My previously reported contract parameters for P. Manning were too low. Broncos, Titans, 49ers working off his old five-year, $90 mil deal

I'm on board with that also. Either sign with the team that first showed interest in you, you toured their town. Now it seems PM is stringing EFX along . Either sign or let broncos move forward w/o your azz.

This whole circus is getting tired!! Nobody in the media has any idea what they are talking about and it is all speculative. Only Manning knows what the hell he is going to do and he has to have a pretty good idea as of right now.

"He wants to go to an AFC team" That would eliminate the Niners right there.

"He doesn't want to beat up on the Colts" That would eliminate the Titans

"He doesnt want to play in the cold or on grass" That eliminates the Broncos

Blah, blah, blah .

I think the biggest factor is Tebow and Manning are both represented by CAA and this has to be driving Tebow nuts so he has to be asking his agent to get the scoop all the while trying to keep it on the down low. And you know this just fuels Tebows competitive nature and he is working out like a madman right now.

Let's just cut our ties with this whole Manning thing, make some moves and go win with Tebow, because he is only going to get better!!

$90 million / $30 million Guaranteed

Year 1: $42 Million
Year 2: $54 Million
Year 3: $66 Million <-----at this point it is $22 million/year avg
-------------------
Year 4: $78 Million
Year 5: $90 Million

That's pretty silly money. Glad it's not mine.

Mike Klis ‏ @MikeKlis

His deal called for him to make _ gulp! _ $61.4 mil over 2 yrs; $69 mil over 3 yrs. Broncos understand the parameters. They're in.

Mike Klis ‏ @MikeKlis

The old Manning deal paid him $26.4 million in 2011, even though he never took a snap. He was to get $35.4 mil this yr, but did not.

^ And not only that they need to start making moves in other directions and other areas. QB isn't the only position on the team and the whole FO is dedicating way too much time to this chase.

Now the media circus here in the bay area is cranking up to full gear now that they just found out that PM worked out for the Niners on Tuesday and got a physical from their doctors on Wednesday. They seem to feel they are now the frontrunners and this thing may string out till late next week. I'm sorry. I want PM to come to denver more than anyone, but I'm done with this. Lets draft or Get a vet in here to compete with Tebow and forget about peyton. We have other problems.

And if Peyton turns them down today, they should go ahead and sign Matt Flynn. Reports are that the Seahawks and Dolphins are lowballing him. **** it. Let's swoop in and grab him and then move on.

I don't think Manning is stringing anyone along. I think he genuinely doesn't know where he wants to play, I don't think he put much thought into it before the Colts released him, and I don't think he knew how the process would work out or how the market would unfold. I believe he meant everything he said a week or two ago.
