1:48 pm Mike Klis says the Broncos' offer to Manning is in the neighborhood of $60M over five years with $30M guaranteed. He quotes a source who says, "We're still in it. We don't know. We'll know more over the weekend." Klis notes that Denver has roughly $15M more in cap room than do the Titans, and he of course says the Broncos are hoping to sign Peyton today and are likely willing to increase their offer if they are impressed by Manning's throwing.

iTs negotiations...You never come in with your best offer right off the top.
Gotta feel out the client and what adams has offered. We will make him an offer he cant refuse. Does anyone really think Elway would **** the bed on something as important to him as peyton manning for a few million. No way. Elway would probably include his super bowl rings and HOF bust if he has to. |

If there's any truth to that at all, the Broncos have the edge because they can go a lot higher. |

I'm having a hard time understanding why people think this is a low offer. If it's a $30 million guaranteed contract, and he plays for two years, he'll bank $42 million dollars. That's not bad for two years worth of work.
Year 1: $36 million ($30 million plus $6 million) Year 2: $42 million Year 3: $48 million Year 4: $54 million Year 5: $60 million Where are people getting the idea that this is low ball? He's only going to see year 3 in this contract anyway. That's $16 million a year. Not bad at all. Last edited by Taco John; 03-16-2012 at 11:04 AM.. |

Is the money being mentioned for real?! If so do it!!! But I have no doubt Adams will top that by a lot.
If true... **** you Melon Head!!! If you would have signed with us for that amount on monday we would have been mayor players in FA. Now we have to settle for scrubs. |

That's a lot of money long-term. Think it would take a bigger deal to get him tho. Probably 5 years-$75 million or something like that.

Adams would give way more than 60. I don't believe that's the base of Adams offer since he's ready to give him ownership, governors keys etc etc

Schefter is reporting that SF worked Peyton out on Tuesday and sent out Dr.'s on Wednesday to administer physical.

$22.5m a year is a hell of a lot higher than $12m per year. Yes I now realise it's a starting ballpark figure, calm remains. |
