1:48 pm Mike Klis says the Broncos' offer to Manning is in the neighborhood of $60M over five years with $30M guaranteed. He quotes a source who says, "We're still in it. We don't know. We'll know more over the weekend." Klis notes that Denver has roughly $15M more in cap room than do the Titans, and he of course says the Broncos are hoping to sign Peyton today and are likely willing to increase their offer if they are impressed by Manning's throwing.

If there's any truth to that at all, the Broncos have the edge because they can go a lot higher.

It's low ball if the Broncos expect him to play more then two years. If he plays 4 more years, hypothetically, it's much below the market value for a top 5 QB.

4 years $90m was quoted earlier in the week Taco that's why.

$22.5m a year is a hell of a lot higher than $12m per year. Yes I now realise it's a starting ballpark figure, calm remains.

Good explanation. I think a lot of people (myself included) weren't considering how the $30 guaranteed worked in terms of how much he makes in the first few years. Makes a lot of sense that he'd have less to gain by playing in the last couple years of the contract.
