Unless that's what the inquiry is about. An incentive-laded contract with an Elway discount on top would fit into the Broncos plan. Paying him $60/3 full guaranteed wouldn't.

Except we don't have all the pieces and Elway didn't sit out the 96/7 season due to an injury requiring 4 neck surgeries.

Elway and Fox are at Weeden's pro day, a 29 year old QBOTF would be epic!

You guys get caught up in the number of times his neck was worked on. It could have been 1 or 10. If the injury is fixed its fixed. The Drs cleared him, and they take these types of injuries seriously. Don't comeback with they cleared guys with knee injuries either. Two different things.

I do agree Elway has a legit shot...the problem is that with all this information leaking out, his price tag will only get higher. That's when we will lose out. And it's the one point I keep saying when talking about Manning coming here. Plus we are not s SB contender. We have many holes...and if we spend HUGE on Manning we won't be able to fill those holes. And I don't like the idea of spending HUGE on a 36 year old QB with 4 neck surgeries. But if fully healthy...he is an upgrade.
Which team is better is clearly arguable. Denver has a number of classy veterans (Champ, Dawkins, McGahee) and very few problem children (Marshall); Denver also has a better coach and a better executive.

What will happen to McCoy if Manning signs? Goes as a package with Tebow in a trade?

We will sign Manning soon. Tebow will be cut on good Friday and rise three days later in Jacksonville.

I'm sure its just so Manning can tell us we have zero chance at signning. Much easier then dealing with those darn agents!

Fox, “Seriously, John, ya think Payton can still play?’

Elway, “Ya know, I really don’t know. We played a round of golf, and his swing sucked, but it always sucked.”

Fox, “True, it did. Have you seen him jog?”

Elway laughing, “It ****ing kills Marino. I love it.”

Xanders, “Guys, I hacked into the Colts’ medical records and downloaded all of Payton’s medical ****.”

Elway, “Jesus CHRIST, you did what?”

Xanders, “I got Payton’s medical records.”

Fox, “Brian, did it occur to you that we could get in trouble.....”

Xanders, “No worry, guys, I got all of Josh’s passwords before he could clean out his office, and I routed myself through his laptop.”

Elway and Fox look at each other. “Nice.”

Xanders, “And then I took the records down to the Rose Medical Center and had their neck surgeons look at them.”

Elway, “Jesus CHRIST!”

Xanders, “Don’t worry, Mr. Elway, I wore one of Josh’s hoodies, and I’m short.”

Elway, “Still if Goodall hears .....”

Xanders, “Mr Elway, the doctors are all Asian and barely speak English......”

Fox, “So, what’d they say? Can he play?”

Xanders, “Inconlusive ....”

Elway, “God, I hate surgeons.”

Xanders, “No, I think it was encouraging. They looked at his pre-injury x-rays and MRIs and figured he was a lawyer or accountant. They couldn’t believe he was a professional athlete.”

Fox, “I am so unsurprised.”

Xanders, “So I asked them if they’d recommend he avoid severe physical contact sports, and they said ‘absolutely.”

Elway, “****.”

Xanders, “But Mr. Elway, they said he shouldn’t have been playing a contact sport BEFORE he got injured, so they couldn’t say he was that much worse now.”

Fox, “So bottom line, we just don’t know.”

Xanders, “Yeah, I suppose his whole head could fall off.....”

Elway, “But if we got him through a training camp, we could at least name him the starter.”

Fox, “I see where you’re going, and I like it.”

Elway, “We could persuade Mr. Bowlen to trade Tim.”

Fox, “We could tell him it was best for the locker room.”

Xanders, “Look I even made a Payton fathead in a bronco uni.”

Elway, “Mr. Bowlen will like that.”

Fox, “So even if Payton’s head falls off in the first game .....”

Elway, “We’d be rid of Tim.”

Nope...he was cleared by our Doctors...when we wanted to trade him to the Giants he failed their physical. It was a classless move by our FO back then and It was something Al talked about a few year back. Will try to find his interview.

Ha ha we knew get was ****ing done and tried to pull one over. That's why he said it was classless! The only reason he was given a clear by us was to trade him nothing more nothing less. Regardless team Drs are not as trust worthy as the surgeon that worked on Manning IMO

Carolina did draft an older QB in Weinke when I believe Fox was there in the 2nd round, but that didn't turn out so well.

Didn't Bunkley fail a physical in Cleveland?

They didn't clear him to take many hits though since they can't know how many of those he can take. If the Broncos were to sign Manning, they have to make changes to that OL if they want him to stay in one piece, which kind of goes against the thinking they are in pretty good shape right now and just need a franchise QB.

Weinke was drafted before Fox was the HC there. Also he was a 4th round pick.

That's promising then since I don't see Weeden being much in the NFL so hopefully the Broncos pass on him.
