its the NFL. Most teams go from good to bad within a couple years, and vice versa. Some teams can build dynasties, but its rare. Im sure Minn does not regret getting Favre. At all. its a terrible example. Also, its not like we know Tebow will be great. Its very debatable. I like him, but he has to vastly improve.

Its not like our sb winning was loaded with home grown talent. It was a good mix.

I think Manning goes to Miami or the NYJ, with Arizona being an outside possibility. Miami and Arizona have pretty good offensive pieces. Wayne will go where Peyton goes.

Denver's pass blocking leaves alot to be desired. Our starting WR's are talented, but raw. We dont appear to have the middle of the field option at TE. We also lack speed at RB.

It would be interesting to see how Denver would draft and approach FA if they do sign Manning, but his coming here has to be a fairly slim possibility.

If we were to sign Manning I would expect us to draft almost exclusively for the offense, or possibly trade away picks to acquire established playmakers. It would probably be disastrous for us in the long-term.

Why? The Colts success this season proved that Manning doesn't need a high-power offense to tear **** up. All he needs is a mediocre blocking back who can catch a check down a declining pro-bowl receiver and a few "me's" in the slot.

Do you mean the Colts' failure?

And if you think, with the way they played last season, that Manning would have made them a viable team, you are hopelessly delusional. They would have been lucky to go 8-8 with him. Very lucky.

Call me hopelessly delusional then. Manning would have had them at 8-8 at the very least. Practically the same roster, and yet a decline all across the board on offense. Same bottom ranked defense Peyton is used to carrying. Yet somehow, over the course of 13 years, he ALWAYS steered these guys to the playoffs. Since '98, just 1 season under 10 wins. Somehow, this team went from 12 of 13 straight 10 win seasons and practically a unanimous pre-season prediction of a 10-6 season from experts to the worst team in the league. That's not delisional, that's just the power of Peyton. He's made so many mediocre players look plausible it's not even funny.

Sanchez has had three solid years of starting, get all the practice reps, all the training camp reps, and his OC is gone now. One tends to think at some point it's over. Feels a little more like "it's time."

With 15 years of continuity the Colts won a single Title. It would take this offense at least two years to even come close to grasping what's going on in Peyton's dangling melon. That will be right around the time that he has to retire.

Anyone thinking he's going to come to Denver and all of a sudden we're going to look like the '98 Broncos are hopelessly unrealistic. To develop the type of complexity and rhythm that has made Manning so successful takes a very long time. The kind of time that his body no longer has.

If Manning had just one neck surgery, I would still have doubts, but it is 4 surgeries. Yes, he has been checked out, but no way to know how many hits he can take. If the Broncos were really that close to being a Super Bowl contender, then this move makes sense. Otherwise, it is more bandaid type nonsense this franchise has been doing for the last decade.

Elway at 36 needed a full team and even at that age, he still moved around better than Manning. The receivers the Broncos have have not shown a great ability to consistently get open quickly and if the Broncos need to get more talent to help Manning, then how can people then turn around and say Tebow can't ever get better if he is surrounded by the very players that apparently wouldn't it done with Manning at QB? Not much sense going on here.

Agreed, to me, this has the looks of a Bronco organization still not really having a plan and going for any nice, shiny looking toy in the window. If the roster was in great shape, then I could see it. But there are just too many holes to fix in one offseason to realistically believe they can become true contenders and banking on a 36 year old with 4 neck surgeries to run a wide open offense with a conservative type coach?

I'm not stupid enough to make definitive statements about somebody else's health when I have no clue what I'm talking about. I'm going to leave this to medical professionals to decide and not interwebz blowhards like you.

This thread continued it's awesomeness all through the night.

4 neck surgeries.
Experimental stem cell treatment.

Found some new footage of Peyton's childhood:

I likeTebow, but this thread just shows how the Tebow hardcore fans can easily freak out at the thought he might be replaced by somebody better.
Oh, lord!
51 pages and counting of constant crying and explaining Peyton's injury by the Tebow maniacs as if they know WTF they're talking about!

I've never thought the MacGruder could come in different forms.

The OM is going to be an epic place to be if/when Manning gets signed.

I don't care who you are, the last four or five offseasons have been a hell of a ride for the Broncos.

I have no issue with making this franchise better, if that's what this move does. But it's laughable to think that wherever Manning goes, he's going to pick up right where he left off and even that wasn't good enough to be a contender.

Particularly with a young OL and young WRs. People acting like he's a sure thing are naive at best.
