well once again, you just cited one person and you're assuming that this one person makes your argument. you can cite as many people as you want, but there are certianly people who DO return to form. you have no statistic for the percentages, so you can't argue that manning is more likely to decline. We're talking about one of the greatest ever, even a sharp decline would make him one of the better quarterbacks in the league. This is why you need to trust physicals, doctors, and the workouts that show he has been throwing well.

Brady was cleared to play and he is fine. Montana broke his back and got cleared to play and took a team to the AFC championship game. Both sides could name players all day that had been cleared and produced or didn't.

This isn't a knee problem, it's a neck problem. I don't think a Dr would clear him if it wasn't safe for him to play.

Fine, people didn't claim Manning would have no trouble with the defender running free. All of those posts are in my imagination. What is weird is, multiple other posters are commenting on them. I must have made up those responses as well!

I'm not saying anything about being medically cleared to play, other than it's not meant to be a gauge of the quality of recovery. Only whether it's comparatively "safe" (if there is such a thing) to keep playing. You're the ones that keep touting it as if it means Peyton will be the same QB he was.

It has nothing to do with that. He could have his right arm amputated and be medically cleared to play.

when a doctor medically clears a player, he is telling the team that it is safe to play. no self respecting doctor would ever allow a player to continue to play if he was at a medium to large risk of re-injury. that's part of their job in medically clearing 100% of the time, analyzing future risk.

as for the arm amputation, we're obviously dealing with the neck. he's working out and showing his stuff, and there's no evidence to indicate he won't be at the same level other than a few players who haven't made it. same goes for any injury. let the physical clearance determine everything. if the neck is healed, it will function normally.

They both ****ing suck. Diem had a -25.6 ranking on PFF that year. Charlie Johnson was -8.6.

Pieces of ****. The Chiefs raped Indy's OL in 2010 and nearly beat them because the tackles were so awful. Diem alone gave up like 10 pressures.

I believe the number is zero, as in zero people have come back from 4 neck surgeries to play again. Maybe Manning is the exception.

Sports radio in Dallas is having the same debate as is probably almost every other NFL city minus the elite QB franchises. Thunderdome it is!!!!
