I hate it that people are saying that our #1 ranked running game is going to be a great draw for Peyton. We were only #1 because Tebow was the QB (aiding the run game both with his own legs and also by drawing attention his way, thus leaving gaping holes for the RB's to rush through).

Without Tebow as the QB, I doubt our run game is even in the top 10!

It would be more trouble than it'd be worth, and when Tebow's contract was up he'd be gone. They'd have to sell 'high' now and avoid all that mess.

Some intangibles to think about, would Peyton want to go to an NFC team and in doing so hinder his little brother's chances of getting to a 3rd superbowl, or would be rather stay in the AFC and face him in one. Just a little snippet from my pocket of irish drunk knowledge. Although many see Washington as one of the favourites I dont see Peyton wanting to play against his brother twice a year. Maybe I'm wrong though and time will tell.

If he comes here though I will seriously feint and as much as I love Tebow the player, he'll never be half the QB Peyton Manning is/was.

If the Tebow fans can't handle Tebow training behind Manning, then it's simple: trade or cut Tebow. Eliminate the distractions to the goal. This team is about winning the Superbowl, and if John Elway brings Manning to Denver, he'll be putting an exclamation point on that fact.

i'm saying that barely 1 year after publicly and repeatedly announcing that the team was finally rebuilding via the draft, it would be idiotic for Elway to abandon that process just because somebody waved some shiny beads in his face.

it has nothing to do with Tebow either. let's say Tebow retires tomorrow so he can build orphanages in Africa. even if that happens, it's STILL a bad idea to throw the rebuilding plan out the window, pay Manning $20M+ or whatever the hell asking price he wants, and then try to cobble together a team using what's left of Bowlen's reserves being spent on free agents in the hopes we can get to a SB in the next 2 or 3 years. we have tried that. it doesn't work. i re-iterate. IT DOESN'T WORK and that's why we're in the mess we're in now.

if all this was happening back in 2006, that would be a different story. but it's not. it's happening in 2012.

I genuinely thought it would work. I'm not sure why it wouldn't. You just bench Tebow. He'll go along. The fans will go along. Tebow in goal line, Tebow trains as back up. Manning's never had a good backup anyway, so I don't see why Tebow couldn't back him up. If Tebow gets shipped out, it's most likely as a backup for some team anyway (for now).

But with Lombardi throwing it out there I guess now it's kind of out there.
