I do, but it took awhile for me to get into it, peen abundance aside. The writing early on was horrible and the actors seemed stilted as hell. About midseason they got into a groove and things were ok.

Then the peen was a bonus side, and not the err...meal so to speak.

Haha, yeah. I figured it wouldn't bother you too much.

It was pretty entertaining. Not as good as Rome though.

Rome was pretty good. I wish it was on Netflix...but heaven forbid Netflix make a deal with HBO to get better programming. Starz...really?

I know. I just looked for it earlier tonight, actually. I'm close to cancelling it. The streaming Netflix is pretty poor.

Got about 100 pages into World Without End before, ironically, somebody handed me GoT. I'll get back to it someday, but all opinions I've heard have been the same as yours, worth the read but not as good as Pillars.

I'm reading another story in the ASOIAF realm right now, The Hedge Knight. Very good so far, especially if you like the the trial by combat stories. 7 vs 7

I gave up on WOT, book 8 is just so boring. I couldn't take it anymore.
You thought Book 8 was boring? You obviously did not have the fortitude (i.e. misguided loyalty induced by head injury) to stick with the series until book 10. That was when the series truly reached its nadir. It was almost impressive the level of suckitude the series achieved in that volume, if you could somehow forget that you just shelled out $35 for the hardcover.

Haha, I bought the $4.95 paper back. I just don't want to read 250 pages about the women and bickering before I get to something of interest. I'm thinking I'm just going to read the synopsis of 8 and 9 and skip to 10.

I've honestly tried reading it like four times but I get like 10 pages in and my mind wanders because it's so boring.

That's the one where absolutely nothing happens over 1000 pages, right? In between (avoiding spoilers by using keywords) saidin and his hand? If so, good lord that was awful. If you didnt have about 10k worth of pages read by that point, most wouldve quit the series, imo.

The end of 9 is REALLY, REALLY cool. Not Dumai's Wells cool, but way up there.

Indeed. That was the book that broke me in fact. As you said, I had 10k worth of pages invested in this series at that point. But after book 10, I would never read an entire Wheel of Time novel again. The last three books I have only read the Rand, Mat, and Perrin chapters. I skip everything else and read the helpful online summaries to fill in what little I may miss.

Agreed. HBO has season 1 and a couple of 2 min peaks at the locations used in season 2 available On Demand right now and running through 7/30. Can't wait. Book 2 was a step above book 1, and 3 is even better....nice.
