But their offense is perfectly fine as is and has two premiere TE's. McD doesn't know how to use TE's...

Brady's had kind of a so-so year and put up his best numbers under Mcdaniels.

Plus, their "perfectly fine" OC just walked, so they need someone else.

Surpassing Marino's near 30 year yardage mark, passing for 39 TDs, and having a QB rating of 105.6 is a so-so year?

And bringing in a guy who knows nothing about TE's to run a TE-heavy offense makes sense to you? An internal guy makes much more sense to me, but hey if they think they'll get the same WR production out of this team as they did in 2007, more power to them...

Someday posters will understand it's BB that makes Brady look good and not the people that get him coffee.

Jeff Fisher said Friday he is considering coaching next season in only two places, Miami or St. Louis, and that he will make his decision next week.

Miami has the better history and is a better destination, but St. Louis has Sam Bradford and the #2 overall pick in this year's draft sitting on the table.

Fisher is no dummy....he'll weigh the pros and cons and make the right decision for him.

I'm sure either team is willing to open up the check book and pay Fisher whatever he is looking for.

I was looking through some stats and noticed that with 444 yards rushing in 2011, Ricky Williams went over the 10,000 rushing yardage mark for his career, becoming the 26th RB to attain that plateau.

Not bad for a dude who basically missed 3 full years in the prime of his playing career due to drug related suspensions and injuries.

Props to Ricky....at least he's a dude that's always done it his way.

Ricky is signed through next year and is a nice compliment to Ray Rice. Ricky still has some fresh legs and is capable of being a work horse again for a handful of games in a row, if called upon.

If McDaniels goes back NE, maybe we can get Gronk, since he won't use him.

Yes b/c we are so much more effective at using a TE. Maybe he could not block in the back on punt returns?

Also, Chefs are set to offer HC job to Romeo Crennel per Schefter.

Detroit kicker Jason Hanson quietly became the 6th player to score over 2,000 points in an NFL career.

Hanson is 4th overall, with 2016 points.

He is the only player in the 2,000 point club to achieve it with one team.

Morten Andersen (1982-2007) is the all-time leader with 2,544 points.

Jason Elam is 7th overall with 1,983 career points.

If Elam wouldn't have struggled at the end of the 2009 season, he would probably be in the 2,000 point club.

Speaking of Lions, Calvin Johnson had a remarkable season.

12 receptions for 211 yards and 2 TDs in the playoff loss tonight.

96 receptions for 1,681 yards and 16 TDs during the regular season.

CJ's 1,681 receiving yards is the 7th highest single season total of all-time.

A little nugget of info - those 1,681 yards are the 7th most all-time, but still doesn't set the Lions single season mark. Former Lions WR Herman Moore is 6th all-time with 1,686 yards in 1995.

Even more interesting....1995 is the owner of 3 of the highest 6 single season all-time WR yardage marks:

1: Jerry Rice 1,848 yards in 1995
2: Isaac Bruce 1,781 yards in 1995
3: Charley Hennigan, 1,746 yards in 1961
4: Marvin Harrison, 1,722 yards in 2002
5: Torry Holt, 1,696 yards in 2003
6: Herman Moore, 1,686 yards in 1995

Not only were 3 of the top 6 seasons in 1995, the 12th highest yardage total also happened in 1995 by Micheal Irvin (1,603 yards).

1: Jerry Rice 1,848 yards in 1995
2: Isaac Bruce 1,781 yards in 1995
3: Charley Hennigan, 1,746 yards in 1961
4: Marvin Harrison, 1,722 yards in 2002
5: Torry Holt, 1,696 yards in 2003
6: Herman Moore, 1,686 yards in 1995

12: Michael Irvin, 1,603 yards in 1995

So 3 of the top 6 and 4 of the top 12 highest single season receiving yardage totals happened in 1995.

It's actually kind of surprising that no current WR has topped Jerry Rice's mark of 1,848 yards with the way the rules have been changed and the way the passing game has evolved.

One of these years, a freak like Calvin Johnson will break the 2,000 yard barrier.

Thanks....I've always been a stats freak and am always aware of where players stand from a historical perspective and measuring tool.

I think it all started when I was a kid and collected football cards and I would memorize and regurgitate all the stats for each player.

I remember having an old O.J. Simpson card and being infatuated with his 2,003 yard season on the back of his card. Then, when I was 12, and in the prime of my card collecting years, Eric Dickerson ran for 2,105 yards and I thought that was incredible.

Scott Mitchell the Lions QB for Herman Moore in 1995, and Barry Sanders the RB.
