And I state this because there are games (Minnesota, Chicago) where his reading of the defense was not an issue. He made the right reads and hit the throw. The coaches put him in a position to fail in that game by only letting him throw when the game began to get out of reach. Then the Bills just tee'd off on him.

Tebow's not going to get a free ride. You can't hide in this league. He may not get to keep the gig. Well, then all the same arguments apply for every "McCoy sucks" thread too: we made the playoffs in his first year here, with a mid-season offense change, he may not last but just enjoy it, etc. But I don't see anyone saying those threads are against the spirit of being a Broncos fan during a playoff week.

And they aren't. Neither are the "we need a new QB" threads. It's a discussion board, and given our ugly 3 game losing streak, it's to be expected that people want to talk about the major question marks they see. People were talking about and questioning Plummer's long term prognosis in the middle of the 05 run too - and with good cause, as it turned out. Rare is the time you'll root for a team that isn't deeply flawed in some area, so I think it's fair to assume most fans can be excited for a playoff game AND look ahead to the eminent offseason.

Thats the thing though epic, its not his first year. He was here all last season and started a couple of games last year. I dont mean that the offensive play book han't changed or he had the usual offseason work but the game should have slowed enough for him to read a defense. He had all year on the bench to start that process. Second I was a tournament bowler for years. If a bowler learns to throw the ball a certain way it is damn near impossible to change because of muscle memory, I am willing to bet its true in football also, for this reason I question if Tim will ever be accurate if he isn't by now.

The press was on Tebow's case from day one. Not just the national press, but the Denver press. Cutler because fans looked beyond his mopey attitude because he can throw the ball far.

Don't agree with some of that, but that wasn't even what we were talking about. I was discussing the fans on this board in regards to your original premise that Tebow critics want the team to lose while Tebow fans (and outspoken critics of the FO & coaching staff) want the team to win. It's BS.

Anyone on this board for more than a few years has taken critical stances against some player or coach or executive, often a very strong one accompanied by snide remarks. Has nothing to do with how strongly they want the Broncos to come out on top that Sunday. SoCal hates Bowlen, Kaylor started a snarky thread about Tebow's performance against KC; I don't think any reasonable person here thinks either will secretly be happy if we get run over by the Steelers.

If the minimum for building a talent base is three years, 2014 would be the year fans could reasonably expect to field a championship-caliber roster. Having to draft a rookie (possibly) in 2013 does not change that timeline that drastically, if at all. Of course Tebow could be the guy, in which case that 1st round 2013 pick can be used elsewhere to actually get us closer that much sooner.

It's almost like the thinking has set in that we were not 4-12 a year ago. We are talent deficient at several key spots and have filled in the holes with relative NFL babies. The reason I mentioned the press is because they have an effect on the way that people think about these situations. Tebow, despite having to overcome difficult mitigating circumstances all around, has been held to an unusual amount of public scrutiny. Among fans, and in both the local and national press.

You can talk about Tebow possibly not making it in the league, but thats not what a lot of this talk is on this site. Its not the usual "the young guy needs to get up to speed" talk. Its the "I want us to lose so we can kick the young guy out before he gets a complete shot to be a player on this team" talk. There is a much different timbre.

And that is the difference between a fan of players, and a team fan. I supported Orton, but could admit when he was not doing good things for the team, and said "Ok, get rid of him." And I was a fan for Tebow, and now.. since we have seen a body of work during the season, I can say... I don't think he is the guy either. I am a Bronco fan. Not an Orton fan. Not a Tebow fan.

Bronco fans used to be united. Now they are torn up over stupid, inane, pointless bickering over single players. Mostly the QB position. But I am willing to go through 10 QBs or 15 if we have to, until we find the QB of the future of this team. People can dance around the fact all the like, but the truth is that the QB IS the center of the team. The top teams are almost ALWAYS the teams with the best QBs. And it would be worth even dumping an entire draft, to get one of the blue chip players that has an excellent shot at being the next great QB for the franchise.

I don't hate any Bronco player. I didn't hate Orton, or Cutler, or Plummer, or even Griese (although he made me almost cry in frustration). I support any player on the team, but that doesn't mean I am so BLIND by my fanaticism for a QB, that I will conveniently ignore the inconsistencies and problems they have. Tebow is not showing that he is an NFL ready QB. But many fans are so infatuated with the guy, they will submit to YEARS of being a crappy, barely scraping by team, just to keep him on the roster. And woe to any fan that dares question him. No, blame the coaches, the receivers, the game plan, everything except the QB. Guess I'm a hater for being a realist.
