I'm not hating on Burfict either, just stating what is out there.

ILB is a real position of need considering Mays is a FA after this year anyways and I wouldn't count on Nate Irving at all. We whiffed on that one, especially when Mason Foster is producing madly for Tampa Bay.

The best all around linebacker out of the three is Luke, because he plays the pass so well and has top-notch instincts. I like Teo's discipline and instincts better than Burfict's, and feel he plays the run better than Luke, but that guy is in on every down making an impact. Burfict is the most aggressive of the three, but that doesn't mean he is the best.

Burfict is no Ray Lewis and is not a blue-chip prospect.

With that said, if we were able to net him somewhere outside the Top 25, go for it. Not before. The other two are better.
So, how would you compare him to Maualuga? From your description, it almost sounds like you think he's that kind of player.

Quite similar, but I think that Burfict has the edge as far as athleticism goes. The most glaring similarity is their weaknesses: lack of discipline and poor pass coverage. If Denver wants an ILB, they are going to have to find one who can cover the pass. Mays has been used in this role and been terrible. I think Burfict would breed the same problems already present on the roster.

It's Luke or Teo for me at ILB in this class if we're going to use a first-rounder on one because they have to be a three down player.

If Denver wants a two-down thumper, they don't have to pick one in the first three rounds. It would be pointless.

I just like him because his name is already a combination of his own + Von Miller. In fact, draft him, and VonDoom still works!

He wears #7 because of John Elway, and is a diehard Broncos fans. I know him personally.

Yes, and Jack Elway had the #7 before Burfict.

he sure did, if Jack hadn't quit football, he likely would have been the starter for the 2009 season

I think if Denver is in the 2nd half of the top 10 their top target will be the DT from Clemson Brandon Thompson. Disruptive force who rarely is off his feet

You can find top LBer help in the 2nd round or late first in a small trade up.

Top end DTs are harder to find

I 100% disagree with you. Look around the league. The majority of starting DTs were drafted late or undrafted. DTs tend to be busts quite often. So unless a DT is far and away the best prospect available for us to draft, I'd rather draft one late instead of wasting a high pick.

If I wasn't sold on the guy already, I definitely am now.

Rahim Moore was a Broncos fan growing up too.

What if Vinne Testaverde would have grown up a Broncos fan, would you have wanted him too?

How about the one-legged receiver from Abeliene Christian?

The one-eyed right tackle from Miami of Ohio?

This is quite an early projection, but it's quite possible he doesn't even get drafted in the first round if he declares.

I'd rather Manti Te'o be the MLB of the future for the Denver Broncos. 49 tackles, 6 for loss and four sacks already this college football season. I have no doubts that he will man the MIKE position for the team that drafts him for a decade.

Te'o > Burfict
After watching the ND Air Force game yesterday I am on the Te'o bandwagon. Great speed, good instincts, didn't miss tackles. The option offense that Air Force runs gives the MLB plenty of opportunities to make plays. It was fun to watch him out there.

Dude you have seen ZERO ASU games. I can tell by how good you think Vontaze is. Sure he makes big hits but he rarely makes plays and is invisible for a lot of the games. Put that with slow speed and bad pass coverage and you got a 2 down LB.

Kirk Herb did little stint on #7 last night how he was supposed to be best defensive player in the draft in the preseason and was far from that. Talked about how he had to be more consistant, smart and actually make plays. His analysis was spot on so whoever wrote it up for him must know his stuff.

Burfict has lost a lot of his speed since freshmen year, and has been a disappointment this year even though he is still playing at a high level.

If we're going to draft a MLB with a top 10 pick he better be on par with Patrick Willis. This guy? Don't make me laugh...
