As for a guess to who drafts Terrelle Pryor, I'll say the Cleveland Browns in the 5th round.

Dude is 6'6 233 pounds and runs in the 4.3 range....his athletic ability is worth the risk of a 5th round pick.

I've seen Ohio State line him up as a WR and seen him go over a defensive back to score a TD.

Roll the dice with a 5th round pick....low risk/high reward potential.
They were talking about Tebow this morning on the NFL channel and the point was brought up that none of the top tier teams run a gimmick/special package.

Just reading up on the supplemental draft and found out we drafted Bobby Humphrey in 1989. We gave up a 1st to get him. That worked out well.

2 1000 yard seasons and 14 TD for a 1st equals bust to me. Not Jarvis Moss bad but still not good. To bad, that is around when I first started following the Broncos and really liked Humphrey. Oh well, that is back when RB were the diva players not WR's.

Rushing for 1,100-1,200 yards back then was a bigger deal than it is today.

I remember collecting the 1,000 Yard Club cards for running backs and receivers when I was kid and thinking that was a big deal.

Bobby Humphrey was a very good, productive RB with the Broncos. He could have been great, it's a shame that drugs pretty much ruined his career.

Humphrey was decent in 1989 and 1990, then Gaston Green filled in admirably the year Bobby held out.

Hell, they got Sammie Smith in return for him.

As for Ted Gregory, read this to truly appreciate how bad a pick that was:

Per @PatrickMoranBSD, #Bills OLB Shawne Merriman was caught coming across the Canadian border with steroids prior to training camp.

Quote:
According to a reliable source close to the situation, Buffalo Bills linebacker Shawne Merriman was busted for carrying steroids near the United States border late Thursday night, July 28 on the eve of Billsí training camp.

According to the source, while trying to cross Canada back into the United States, Merriman was detained by United States Customs shortly after 2:00am. There, the source tells me steroids were found in his possession. He was not arrested and booked because from what Iím told, simply being in the possession of the substance is not technically illegal.

Iím certainly no legal analyst or NFL league rules expert, and I donít know what, if any ramifications simply being caught in possession of a steroid substance will carry. I canít and wonít speculate if Merriman has actually taken steroids anytime recently, but my source says he was caught with them in his possession.

I have to reiterate that doesnít mean Merriman has taken steroids recently or done anything illegal.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available. Knowing the consequence of being wrong, I wouldnít post if not fully confident in the accuracy of this report.

For the record, Iíve sat on this story for close to three weeksóand numerous mainstream media members Iíve confided in can attest to that.

I hated Merriman as a Charger. As I do with basically all of them, but I was pulling for him in Buffalo. I hope that this isn't true. As for Pryor...I would take him in the 7th and do the WR thing.

Gaston Green. I couldn't stand that guy.

His runs usually looked like this:

1yd, 2 yd, -1 yd, 3 yd, 1 yd, 22 yd, 1 yd, -3 yd, 16 yd,... Oh look, a 4.5 avg!

He fall down breaking wind, let alone an arm tackle...

One time I saw the wind from an Olineman's arm hitting the ground be accredited with a tackle on Gaston Green...

Patrick Peterson remains a backup for now

When the Cardinals traded cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to Philly, the assumption was that No. 5 overall pick Patrick Peterson would replace him in the starting lineup.
That should happen eventually, but it hasn’t happened yet. Peterson continues to run with the backups behind second-year cornerback A.J. Jefferson and Greg Toler.
The Cardinals are using Peterson as a kick returner, which could be a sign he won’t play every snap on defense early in the year. Coach Ken Whisenhunt usually favors veterans early in camp and it’s too early to say much of anything. But we just haven’t heard a lot about Peterson making an impact just yet.
“I expected Peterson to stand out more as a cornerback early in camp,” ESPN.com’s Mike Sando writes.
That about sums it up. With safety Adrian Wilson out indefinitely, the Cardinals need the young guys in their secondary to step up, with Peterson foremost among them.

Philly may be adding to that. Jeez, Vick looked pretty shaky against Pitt last night.

A combination of the pending suspension and the very late draft could cause him some issues but from what I've heard (as I didn't watch any college football for the last few years), they seem to think he's a quality QB. Is that not the case? Or are you saying just WR for now? I know the other day there was something on ESPN saying he was better than Cam Newton.

Good read but holy crap that was the most annoying writing ever. My only guess is it was transposed from something else and not corrected.

The Burger King Mascot was waived this week. If the Panthers don't grab him first, we could have a real threat in the backfield.
