Been on a Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings kick as of late....if you don't know them, they do old soul stylings (60's-early 70's) like none other. So if you like that stuff, you should love this.

I've noticed lately there's lots of hit songs - many classics - that incorporate heavy cello parts: Pearl Jam's Jeremy, The Moments Love on a 2-Way Street, Good Vibrations, Poe's Angry Johnny, Little Past Little Rock, Overjoyed, Bittersweet Symphony. The Jay-Z/Alicia Keys hit 'Empire State of Mind' even samples the 2-Way Street cello.

Sooo ... I offer the first in my ongoing series: "Rock Hits with Cello"

This one slays me every time.
