Give him up? Hardly. I'm not talking about cutting him or trading him for a 6th or 7th rounder. A few different sites are reporting possible trade scenarios for top level compensation and it seems to make sense.

They're rebuilding. Why waste the $30 mil guaranteed he's reportedly demanding if they won't be in any position to take advantage of it before he declines? Get the 2 first or second round picks/and or players at positions of need and let someone else show him the money.

not enough time to gel. They will do well, but I would put my money on a team like the Steelers, Ravens, Jets or Pats. I think the Packers and Bears will give Philly all they can handle as well.

The Bears strike me as a team that caught a lot of breaks to help create their W-L record last year.

Calvin Johnson's non-TD catch week 1 spotted them their first win and they continued to get more lucky breaks as the season went on. How many times did Forte catch a 5 yard screen pass and turn it into a 60 yard run? Can't really rely on that. Urlacher actually played all last season. First time he's done that in a while. Tons of questions on a roster with no significant improvements in this off-season. The Lions might be a more dangerous team than the Bears this year if Stafford stays healthy.

Considering he only had 1 catch over 30 yards, I'm gonna go with MAYBE once...?

Also, 09 was the only time Urlacher missed a single game in the past 6 years. So, no, it's not "the first time he's done that in a while".

No significant improvements? They quietly had a fantastic draft and FA period... I don't see how you can even say this either...

Keep in mind the reporting date was of no significance to Chris Johnson. He doesn't get FA after this year anyways so unless he was holding out for a week just to report and then do it again next year, it was entirely expected.

That does mean he is more committed to his holdout than a player that just has one year left on his contract though. For a one year guy, the team can make a "we wont franchise you" concession and the guy will sometimes cave. Here? They wont franchise him 'cause he has another year after this one. I also think he knows he wont have another season like his 2k year so he wants the big bucks before anyone starts asking if he's washed up, if it was his Oline, etc.

well he did have a 90 yarder and a 30 yarder in one game to complete an 11 point comeback.

The Chicago Sun Times suggests that rookie UDFA Dane Sanzenbacher is already "closing the gap" on Earl Bennett to be the Bears' slot receiver.

I knew he would work his way onto a team and impress them.

Glad to see the Bears are recognizing his talent.

Yup I had heard similar. Also heard Lovie saying Hester has had the best camp out of anyone. So between those two, Knox already being pretty good and Roy Williams, the Bears may finally have some people who can catch a ****ing football
