What is George Lucas talking about? Hasn't he seen the crap that passes its self off as "SciFi" these days. Come on George there is no such thing as perfect "FX" just good stories.

They had the new Star Wars trilogy on yesterday. I watched the ending of part III. I have to say Lucas has the worst sense of dialogue ever. And thinking about it, his dialogue was horrible in the original Star Wars films as well. So for a man with zero ability to write anything passable as human communication its entirely possible he over relies on FX. Its all he has to bank on.

The last 3 films were all total crap and all the actors seemed so lifeless and wooden it was hard to root for them or buy into their character.

George Lucas doesn't know good SCI-FI and hasn't in a long time. the last good sci fi movie he had completely under his control was Empire Strikes Back

and sorry to those who will give me **** about not respecting Return of the Jedi, but i hate the Ewoks and see them as the precursor to Jar Jar Binks

Actor: Zachary Gordon

Actress: AnnaSophia Robb
dude, why turn The Last Starfighter into a kids movie, which is exactly what your cast sets up.

the original main character was an older teenager and was played by a guy in his mid 20s

dude, you need to watch Justified. he totally owns in that role. he was a sketchy actor in his earlier roles, but on Justified he has found his way and is kicking ass on that show.

i like Olyphant and think he could do the role well, but it is a movie that should not be remade. it is an iconic part.

make a movie in the same tone with a similar character for him to play and i will watch the **** out of it, but it can't be Dirty Harry.

that would almost be like remaking Rocky, or the Godfather, or Bullit and that would just be wrong.

i am still pissed off that these studios are trying to remake The Crow and Escape from New York.

The Crow franchise should have died with Brandon Lee, and no one can pull off the character of Snake Plissken aside from Kurt Russell

I like some of the ones mentioned. Monster Squad, Remo Williams, My Science Project - these all could stand to have another go-around.

I don't think The Princess Bride is worth trying. The entire movie is too quotable. That would be like remaking Animal House, The Wizard of Oz or some other similarly epic movie. I know, everyone is saying "they remade Karate Kid!!" First of all, the new one sucked. Second of all, the old one hasn't aged well. Princess Bride certainly isn't modern, but you can still watch it today and it holds its own.

A new Superman movie was overdue. I hope they do it right, though.

I'd like to see them reboot some old shows but actually do the shows and not just crappy movies, like Macgyver, Magnum PI or Buck Rogers. They rebooted Battlestar Galactica and it was a huge improvement.

I think we're due for a good Star Trek show too.
