Brandon Jackson - RB - Packers
Beat writer Tom Silverstein says that the Packers are likely to lose third-down back Brandon Jackson in free agency. Jackson has four years of service and is likely to become an unrestricted free agent once a new CBA is reached. While the Packers have been very committed to Jackson as someone that excels in blitz pickup and as a receiver out of the backfield, they can't retain everyone. James Starks has a chance to step into the third-down role if Jackson moves on. Related: James Starks Source: The Sporting News Apr 4, 10:47 AM |

Goodell confirms NFL will insist on HGH testing
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...n-hgh-testing/ When it comes to testing players for human growth hormone, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says there’s no room for debate: HGH tests have to be part of the next Collective Bargaining Agreement. “The integrity of the NFL is critical,” Goodell said, per Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun. “We have to make sure that we’re doing everything possible to have the best drug program in sports. Making changes to our program is critical. We have done that over the years and we have to do more, including the inclusion of HGH testing.” Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com previously reported that the league would insist on HGH testing, and Goodell’s latest comments confirm that the league believes it’s time to add HGH testing to the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. However, it remains to be seen how hard the players will fight such testing. Scientists still haven’t developed reliable urine testing for HGH, and the players say they’re opposed to any requirement that they have blood drawn to be tested for illicit substances. In that respect, the players in the NFL differ from the players in the Canadian Football League. As Albert Breer of NFL Network reported, the CFL players have been fully supportive of that league’s performance-enhancing drug testing program, which includes blood testing for HGH. For his part, Goodell says testing for HGH is the only way for the league to stay ahead of cheaters. “We would be naïve to think that people aren’t going to cheat the system,” Goodell said. “But we have to have the best drug testing program to be able to offset it.” |

I'm fairly certain that a lot of NFL players are taking HGH.

It's when players take them without proper guidance and supervision that they become dangerous. When used properly, there are great benefits that can be attained from their use. When I get older, I'll start taking some HGH....lots of positive benefits if you can afford it when you get older. Last edited by SouthStndJunkie; 04-07-2011 at 07:27 PM.. |

Per three sources, Nick Fairley skipped a scheduled dinner with Dolphins coach Tony Sparano and GM Jeff Ireland in Alabama.
Per a source, Sparano and Ireland called Fairley and waited for an hour and he never showed up. https://twitter.com/RavensInsider |

Stewart Bradley - LB - Eagles
According to the NFL, the league is again changing its concussions policy due to the Eagles' handling of Stewart Bradley during a game last season after he was clearly concussed. "Had that not happened, we may not have had the NFL sideline examination [for concussions]," said NFL official Richard Ellenbogen. Bradley was allowed back into the Eagles' season opener after suffering an early concussion, and staggered through a couple of snaps before being removed permanently. The sideline concussion exam has now been standardized in the NFL. Source: Associated Press Apr 19, 10:41 AM It amazes me that they let him go back in and stubble around before pulling him out for good talk about insubordination |

Kaepernick top QB on 'several' draft boards?
![]() According to Bill Huber of Packer Report, Colin Kaepernick's recent draft invite was sent by the league after "several teams" told the NFL he is the top rated quarterback on their boards. Huber is insistent about this information, citing "someone who knows" and presumably handles invites to Radio City Music Hall. Profootballtalk.com has confirmed that at least one AFC West team (believed to be the Raiders, Chiefs, OR Broncos) definitely has Kaepernick rated as the draft's top quarterback. With ideal size, arm strength, athleticism, and intangibles, it probably shouldn't surprise anyone if Kaepernick is a first-round pick. Source: Bill Huber on Twitter Apr 18, 11:09 PM |

Browns QB McCoy hosting workouts in Texas
BEREA, Ohio (AP)—Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert was pleased to hear that quarterback Colt McCoy(notes) and some of Cleveland’s wide receivers are getting together during the NFL lockout. Heckert was asked Thursday about McCoy hosting some teammates for workouts in Austin, Texas. Heckert said at a press conference about next week’s draft that “it’s great” the players are fine tuning their skills during the league’s labor dispute. Browns wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi(notes) wrote on his Twitter page that he’d be in Austin with McCoy and teammates Josh Cribbs, Carlton Mitchell(notes), Jordan Norwood(notes) and “the rest of my Browns brothers!” Players are not permitted to work out at team facilities during the lockout, which began on March 11. Not that I care about the Browns but it kinda bothers me that we are not seeing anything like this from the Bronco's. Or if they are I missed it. It's up to Orton to organize and who knows if he cares enough anymore with his situation somewhat up in the air. Tebow doing it would be stepping on toes. Zbikowski moves his boxing record to 4-0
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...record-to-4-0/ Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski, who unlike Pats receiver Wes Welker isn’t happily sitting on his ass during the lockout, spent Saturday night putting a boxer named Blake Warner on his ass in a one-round TKO, according to Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun. The referee stopped the fight held in the pugilistic mecca of Thackerville, Oklahoma at 2:20 of the opening three-minute interlude, after Zbikowski sent Warner to the moon with a right uppercut. Zbikowski’s win moved his record to 4-0. He has won three of those fights since the 2010 football season ended. The former Notre Dame standout is scheduled to fight on May 21 in Cabazon, California. He’ll then enter the ring again on June 4 at Staples Center. |

With the NFL's recent crackdown on concussions, is boxing really the side job you want to be engaging in in your spare time?
