A look at the early years of boxer "Irish" Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him before going pro in the mid 1980s
Nothing against Marky Marc, but Christian Bale steals the show and reminds you how terrible an actor Mark Walberg is. |

I don't know if this one has been mentioned yet, but I just saw "The Sicilian Girl", and was really moved. It is based on the true story of Rita Atria who at 17 yrs. old takes on the Mafia in Sicily.
As a little girl growing up in a Mafioso family and neighborhood, she witnesses her father and brother get killed by rival crime families. Vowing to get revenge, she realizes she won't be able take them down with a gun, but rather her very detailed diary. She kept notes on the Mafia's dealings for years and brought the evidence to a prosecutor when she reached 17. She then becomes a "marked" girl when she dares to break the cosa nostra's long-standing "code of silence" rule. |

YOU SEXY MAN!!!! I almost didn't recognize the new abbreviation haha Ip man = pure awesome, and I THINK there's a sequel...I'll have to do some googling. Another great one I just watched, "a prophet". French film, prison story. Basically, a man works his way up through the mafia while in the clink, learning different languages and playing sides as he slowly transforms from an illiterate streetrat to bonafide bad mofo. Introspective at times, very intricate plot lines...all in all one of the best foreign films I've seen in a while. EXCELLENT flick, subtitled, so get your glasses on. ![]() |

Watched it shortly after watching all the Girl with the dragon tattoo... Trilogy. The main character in the trilogy had a minor role in ARN (I think he was Arn's father or something like that). |

I thought Mark Wahlberg really held his own in that movie. They all did. Christian Bale had a flashier role (he's a flashier actor) but I thought Wahlberg was understated and great in his role. It was my favourite Hollywood movie last year.

IMO, Marky Marc always plays that character. he's not that great of an actor, but he always seems to be in very entertaining movies. |
