With Hollywood making all these remakes. Some needed like Superman and Tomb Raider. What old movies would you like to see with a 21st century makeover. Provide Title and pictures for the lead actors and actress.
Example: The Last Starfighter: ![]() Actor: Zachary Gordon ![]() Actress: AnnaSophia Robb ![]() |

Star Wars:
Justin Beiber as Luke Jake Gyllenhaal as Han Solo Ellen Page as Leia Gary Oldman as Obi Wan Denzel Washington as Vader Seth Green as R2D2 Bradley Cooper as C3PO John C Reilly as Chewy George Lucas called me to say that they are actually making this, but he's just using their voices and the entire movie is going to be CGI. They are going to add clowns, lots of clown because Lucas really felt like it was missing clowns in 1977. |

Remakes, sequels, prequels, reboots are dangerous things. For every Batman Begins you get, you get Superman Returns, Wolverine, The Wolfman, Psycho, etc. Unless you can bring a fresh angle there is no point to any of them.
Some movies should never be remade: Citizen Kane, E.T., Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz and I am sure others. Some can be inventively built upon. The musical Wicked is a great nod to Wizard of Oz without actually being the same thing and from what I am reading of the the Raimi Oz film it owes a lot to Wicked. Some remakes are as good as the original or better because they are their own film: Thomas Crown Affair and Ocean's Eleven come to mind (though the Ocean films should've stopped at 1, the sequels sucked). some movies that got remade make me want to punch people. Psycho was a pointless remake and the casting of Vince Vaughn was so bad. horror and suspense seem to be rife with remakes and sequels, most of which are bad. As for what I would like to see, hmm, that's a little tougher. There isn't a lot I want to see remade to be honest. Attack of the Killer tomatoes perhaps? ![]() |

Alright, I guess I could suffer through if they cast Scarlett Johannson.

Too soon for a Boogie Nights remake and no point anyway. You boys just need to watch more porn.
![]() Anyway...so I found this site, it's a bit dated since some of these have already been remade and released, but it did make me think a bit. http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/4502...the_works.html I think the TV show Dark Shadows could be remade, but as a movie not a TV show again (they tried that unsuccessfully I think in the 90s or something). I actually heard this might actually be happening with Johnny Depp in the lead role as Barnabus. He's a good choice so it could be interesting and frankly any vampire movie that doesn't involve pouty teenage girls in Seattle swooning over an equally pouty pasty Brit vampire are okay by me (while I enjoy some teenage vampire antics, Lost Boys, Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show,Twilight irritates me a lot). |

I just watched THE FIGHTER.
Great film. It should have won best picture. I don't get the enthusiasm over THE KING'S SPEECH. Vastly over rated IMO. Also recommended: HEREAFTER - with Mat Damon. Another top performance by Damon. This one is very very deep -- and they pul lit off beautifully. Both 4 out of 4 stars. |

Believe it or not, Boogie Nights is already about 15 years old.

I'd like to see a Spaceballs sequel...Barf and Dot's kid (cyborg Mog) fighting Dark Helmet (who escaped the planet of the apes) alongside an aging Lone Starr and Vespa (they couldn't have kids due to an accidental spell cast by Yogurt).
Make it happen. |

They should remake the Right Stuff but instead of focusing on the spam in the can they should rewrite it around Gene, Chris Craft, and how they built the MOCR team. That would be much more exciting than 1 dude breaking the speed of sound for the 1st time.
It could be the mecury version of Apollo 13! |

I read that there will be a reboot of Lethal Weapon. Same characters, new actors. I hope that doesn't happen. Lethal Weapon was awesome.
I always thought it would be cool to see a Ferris Bueller sequel. I'll pass on a remake with new actors. Same cast, now he's grown, has some big time corporate job, and he's pulling the same stuff. He's taking a day off and some executive is out to get him. They can bring back his friends, who will pretty much play the same roles, but now they are all grown. |

I always imagined Ferris became a solo practicing plaintiff's attorney and made lots of money.

Would they bring back Charlie Sheen for another cameo? That scene with him and Ferris's sister (Jennifer Grey) was definitely one of the best cameos of the time IMO and it would hardly be a stretch for him to play that exact role today.
