Well, given the fact that Cutler was on pace to lead his team to zero points we can pretty much say that it was a closer contest because of Hanie.

No, Cutler played a couple of snaps in the 2nd half. You're just making assumptions.

Hanie injected some energy and fire into both the Bears O and D.. Cutler hardly even limped off the field.

No way a REAL QB leaves teh game under his own power like that and is pacing around the sidelines obviously with no major injury in the NFC championship game as his team goes down in flames!

Hanie showed Cutler up not only on the field but more importantly with his teammates and Chicago fans... Can hardly wait to read the Suntimes in a few hours :-)!

I think it would've been a great bump if the 3rd string QB led them to the Super Bowl. But, when it was getting on the line he failed. I will say, that WR end around on 3rd and 3? was ****ing stupid. Who ****ing play called that?

I agree that after Collins was in there for a few snaps before he got hurt and didn't man up to return for a couple snaps to close out the 3rd quarter in the NFC championship that the team did get re-energized when Haine came in.

It was not like Cutler was the only duh bear QB not to return in the NFC Championship game.

What really hurt duh bears was that they didn't get a Hester return and a score on D.

So, since the old Orange and Blue lost the Conference Championship, do you think they should draft a QB high next year? Maybe trade up in the first round and see if they can get and impact player? I mean...take a look at the stats. They're terrible. Six of fourteen for 80 yards. That's a 5.7 yard avg. And with 0 TD's and 1 INT, that come to a 31.8 QB rating. To be fair that was only one half of work. So...double all those numbers I guess.

I kinda think that things are on the right track if your team is playing in the final 4.

They need lots of OL help. It is a miracle that they made it that deep with the worst OL in the NFL.

Sounds like maybe you didn't see it? Can't be just me, Hanie was nothing short of remarkable. Stats tell the story:

Hanie played the 4th quarter only, but in that quarter he doubled Cutler and Collins' combined completions and yardage ... and led the Bears to their only points of the game:

The pick-6 came when BJ Raji dropped back into pass coverage - if you can believe that - and slid right into the passing lane. Reading that kind of cover scheme is tough for a guy who never plays, and he really never did play before this ... threw just 14 passes in three years. Other Int was a bad pass on 4th down to end the game.
