![]() All this McGuinn talk had me break out the classic early albums today. Great stuff, but my fave from them all may be this fairly obscure track...which I feel is pure jangle magic. |

If McGuinn could stomach Crosby for a few months, they could put most of the band together and make some money. I just don't think McGuinn is concerned with that sort of thing these days.

Yeah...with the Clark(e)s gone, I dunno if I'd go to it anyways. I really wrestle with attending reunions like that.

Jeff Beck humiliates himself before kickoff at Wembley today ... that same don't-give-a-crap, ragged, sloppy style he's had for twenty or thirty years now. It's a damn shame really.
Here he is onstage solo in LA about ten years ago, out of tune, sapping every ounce of energy out of a song normally overflowing with it. Then Rod Stewart "surprises" him with a walk-on. Beck falls apart in a kind of faux shock, stops playing and staggers away leaving Rod on his own. Actually this behavior might kinda add up, maybe he's been riding the white horse all this time |

A brilliant read from Slate: Mick's reaction to Keef's recent autobiography. Unfortunately it's faked, but it's great writing, and so true. Last edited by bombay; 11-05-2010 at 10:49 PM.. |

Patton is the man, Faith No More and Mr. Bungle are brilliant.
Right now, I decided to whip out Leitmotif from Dredg -- a band I really enjoy, have since the early 00's. A lot more raw than their latest efforts, but I like the passion a bit more. Guitar is a lot more crunchy, solid tones without as much delay and other effects that can really water some music down. |
