Okay I'll look them up: Never heard of the guy, but "The Storm" included Gregg Rolie, Steve Smith and Ross Valory?! All victims of the tidal wave that was Steve Perry's insecure ego ... they don't sound at all like Journey though ... they opened for Bryan Adams and Peter Framptopn, nice! Bryan Adams is underrated. And Chalfant sang with 707 ... he could be good for them ![]() |

I could listen to this song 100 times in a row. I always pick up something new in there. Still the loudest guitar show I've ever attended:

Let's have some fun with "Dead Ringers" - One offs that sound so much like an established artist that many people were fooled into thinking it was them.
People thought it was Elvis Presley when they first heard it People thought it was The Beatles when they first heard it People thought it was Elvis Costello when they first heard it Do you have any like these? If so, post them! |

I think I saw Trower at the Gothic on this tour. It was 4-5 years ago and had the same vocalist -Davey Pattison. He was great, too. |

AC/DC certainly casts a very long shadow Smiling, good examples there.
A lot of people bag on Echo & The Bunnymen, but they were really inventive and challenging IMHO. I'm not a Coldplay fan at all, but they did a decent job with the Lips Like Sugar cover. This one always seemed like a bit of a stretch to me, but some mistook this for Bob Dylan |

Stange you have Krokus here! I knew the drummer back in the mid 80's well, his dad was a professor at Millikin University here in Decatur. Great kid and damn good drummer. He has moved on since!

Deer Tick at Floyd Fest 2010 This band is amazing they have a drummer that just busted the crap out of his drums and to end their set he had an incredible drum solo. The lead singer has so much passion for his music he is a pleasure to watch. |

Love that band. Bun E was so cool to us and Neilson was just the biggest dick, meeting him was just a huge downer. Never really cared for Trower solo, I'll pass and stay with Procol Harum instead. |

I was a huge Procol Harum fan (still wish they'd tour the US one more time), but Trower's first solo album - Bridge Of Sighs - is a truly fine record. I haven't heard the ones LA recommended, but I'll give a listen. |

Rick Neilson & Billy Zoom of X were the biggest aholes I ever ran across. Of the two though, Neilson was the worst. I give the other members of the band all the credit in the world for putting up with that guy for as long as they have.

^ I've met Rick Neilson and have hung out with him on several occasions.
On one of these occasions, he even let me play his notorious five-necked checkerboard guitar while he was chatting with fans and signing autographs after a concert. I still have the photos up on the wall in my home studio. Rick always impressed me as a really friendly, humorous, and down-to-earth-guy. |
