Put some absinthe in the freezer and when it is nice and thick put over about 3 or 4 ice cubes, then let the ice melt a little, it's awesome.
It's kind of like sambuca, you've got to like licorice flavor. |

Ain't bad? Stranahan's is my favorite whiskey. LOVE that stuff. On the rocks or neat, so nice and warm and easy to sip... Also a big fan of Hendrick's Gin, though I usually drink it with tonic.

I got used to fruit distillates (dry, not sweet) while in Europe, eg, Poire Williams (pear), Framboise (raspberry), Vielle Prune, Calvados (apple), but the brands I can get here are not in the same league as what I used to get in Europe. An exception is a Calvados (XO) by Norois, pricy but worth it. Ranks with the best single malts, bourbons, cognacs and armagnacs that l sip periodically as an after dinner treat. Monsieur Touton Selections in New York is the importer.

I have to go with Mezcal. The best part about it is that when your done there is a little surprise for you.

I just developed somewhat of a taste for black licorice when I was younger (although I still liked the sweet red version better), and then I encountered liquor that tasted just like it. It was so different from anything else I'd ever had, it really grew on me and now it's one of my very favorite liqueurs. I really should buy some coffee beans so I can throw 3 of them in there like you're supposed to.

Sambuca is good, but it's not something I can drink a lot of. It's too thick and sugary. |

Anybody know a good site to buy bottles online, or if it can even be bought online? I'm trying to see if it will cost less online then at the ABC store.
