A buddy gave me "Crazy Rhythms" by the Feelies for my birthday. Awesome disc. If you like early Violent Femmes, you will love these guys. I'm surprised I never stumbled on them before. I would imagine Hogan knows about these guys.

That's wild. I had no idea.
I loved the simple, energetic power pop of The Knack. They offended a whole lotta people for many different reasons, many of which had nothing to do with the music they left behind. I had a chance once to check them out on one of the reunion tours, but passed because the original drummer (the late, great Bruce Gary) didn't take part in any of them. |

If anyone has the opportunity to attend the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in April, the lineup is incredible. |

Trying to work the schedule so I can get 3/4 days in. My priority is Van Morrison. Also like to see Levon Helm, Aretha, My Morning Jacket, Widespread, Pearl Jam, Alan Toussaunt, Simon and his buddy, etc. Have to study the schedule more closely.

The Easy Star All Stars are freaking awesome. They do reggae covers of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Radiohead.

I'm listening to Make Me Shiver's (Sixstringlass's band) second CD, "Moonshine Valentine".
Some OM'ers have met "Sixstringlass" and "Axeslinger" at OM Weekend tailgates and have copies of their first CD. Anyone who might be interested in the sequel can PM me for more info. ![]() |
