Just still sticks in my craw that TJ posted this immediately after he beat our asses back in the day, I thought it might be a tad bit ironic to post after Manning's int lost his team the Super Bowl.

Made for a few good chuckles.

Manning threw for 333 yards, a TD and a INT.

That's pretty good in the superbowl.

Manning is a great quarterback. These teams that he's taking to the superbowl are kind of like the teams Elway dragged to the 'bowl in the '80s. They wouldn't be close without him.

When I first saw this thread I was like, what? Then I saw the date on it.

Why is it every two years there's some new "greatest of all time?" Kind of contradicts the theory.

And it's funny how the last guy you see is always the 'greatest.'

Manning is 9-9 in the playoffs. Easy to stand out with less competition on the field. They could vote for him as MVP ten times, and it wouldn't increase or decrease his ability or talent level in the least.

Get over it then. He deserved credit for being the best player on the field that day. I don't have any regrets for giving credit where credit is due.

I don't think Manning is better than Elway ever was. But he's a damn fine quarterback who is one of the best signal callers to play the game.

I actually agree with this. I don't think it's any coincidence that Manning's stats exploded the year after they nerfed the cornerback position.

Manning is a specific passer who relies on hard study and rhythmic passing. Force him into showing his physical limitations and he quickly becomes average. Let's not forget the guy is good, he's been in the same system for a decade with little turnover in assistant coaches. Plus, he never gets touched. Pretty much like a certain qb in New England that I call the ultimate corporate quarterback. Add that to the current rules and there you go. There isn't a damn thing Peyton does that Marino, Kelly or Elway couldn't do. Give me a break.

I disagree. Watch the guy play. With or without the rules he is scary accurate and has a great arm. On top of that he's basically a playing coach.

.....but he gets extremely flustered when the pressure is on him and his team isn't ahead. His head looked like it was ready to EXPLODE in the fourth quarter.
