Default Mass Effect 2

Anyone else snag this last night? I did, however, I'm working on my last playthrough of my Adept, so I won't be playing it for the next day or two (Depending if I can put like 20 hours into my Adept and finish it soon lol.)

I'm so excited for this game. I absolutely love the franchise.

Anyone else geeking for ME2?

Never got into the first one. Played for like half an hour and was like "Meah, I'd rather play Warhawk/COD/Madden." The story and gameplay just isn't innovative at all.

The new one is suppose to be sick, well they always say that about every game that is coming out.

But it looks good, that's all I know.

I love it. Have been playing since I got off work. So far it has lived up to the hype.

I have to play the first one, first. Then I'll play this one. OR does it matter?

If you play the first one, you can use your character in the second. The story and characters you run into will be different depending on what you do in the first. I haven't played enough to figure out how different it is. You will also get more of the storyline if you play through the first one as the trillogy is one long story.

If you don't care about missing some of the story, they do explain what is going on so you don't have to play the first. If you really want to catch up, you get a codec that has audio clips that will tell you everything. Also, even if you use your ME1 character, you still start at level 0 and don't have any upgrades.

So, in short, you don't have to play the first to play the second but you will get more out of it if you do. It is also interesting to see how much they changed it. This one is a very different experience from the first. They changed a lot.

I HIGHLY recomend the first one. It's worth playing on its own.

You get bonuses for levels and RICH achievement though that carry over, also you start at higher levels based on where the playthru you loaded finished. a 60 starts at lvl 5 with 100,000 creds, and like 10,000 resources.

over 100 choices carry over too.

I thought I read you have to start at zero in the reviews. That is nice. I didn't carry a character over yet. I play on the computer and built a new one a little bit ago so I didn't have my old saves. After I finish this playthrough I plan on going through 1 then 2 again. That is good to know since what I read made it seem like just your choices carried over.

Mainly just choices. However, I'm not sure yet if the money/resources really matter. In the first one you were at max money like 1/2 way through. So those may not be an issue. XP isn't that big of a bonus if you level like in the first one (lvl 5 is around 3,000 XP or something).

So just play through and enjoy it. Do all the side quests if you can, and you should end around 50-54. I'm 52 right now, halfway through the main story with most of the sidequests done, and I glitched a couple levels on Therum for the hell of it.

You can change classes in the 2nd one, and carry over your choices.

I can tell you the resources carrying over will not matter much. I am maybe half way through 2, probably not even as I am trying to find everything I can, and I already have far more resources than I need.

I beat it in about 32 hours my first time. I did most everything I could find but I stopped exploring new planets when my resources were way above what I was going to need. There are some side missions on random planets that I probably didn't do. This was a great game and very well done.

My biggest complaint is that they have the controls so different from the first one and you can't set them up like the first one, even on the computer. The use, run, and cover being the same key is very annoying to me. No crouch is also kind of annoying but you get used to using cover instead. I also loved having infinite ammo and all of the upgrades (armors, bullets, guns, etc...) in the first one. This one seems to have a lot less to it in this department. Everything else is much better in the second one. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about getting it.

I just bought a new TV and bought COD 2 and Assasians creed 2.

The games look sick on it.

I can really get into COD, thinking about hooking up the PS3 to it.

Ghost recon 2 will look bad ass.

On insanity ME2 is fairly difficult. You have to strategize more.
