50 Best Websites 2009
Do you all agree with this? I see a bunch of sites here that don't even rate a view from me and then some that I have heard about but never checked into.
I think it is funny how much this list has changed over the past five year. I remember when www.refdesk.com was revelation of a website and now it does not even rate. You can see most of the names have cool hip programmer sounding lingo mingled in the title.
Time did not make the list? CNN and Businessweek are passe? None of the big media houses own the Internet? Microsoft.com is the busiest website on the planet by far but that was not on the list? How do you patch your computer then?
I think it is interesting how the Internet has evolved since 1995 when I was chatting with some guy at MIT and realized "HEY! I am chatting with some professor smart uber computer guy at MIT!" A lot of the people you used to be able to reach were EASY to reach back then.
What is amazing is the destruction of boundaries and personal space online. The world is getting larger and smaller at the same time.
What are your thoughts on this?
