I always thought that made no sense. Keith Richards for all these years has been claiming that Brian was murdered.

Although I really did enjoy the Mick Taylor addition to the Stones (made them more bluesy) I always missed the Brian Jones touch.

Wood's style just isn't different enough from Keith's style to be all that complimentary, IMO. |

I thought Jones left because the band was moving more and more away from it's initial blues based sound, so I always found the addition of Taylor to be kinda amusing. A fine player no doubt, but one that never really seem to fit in very well with the rest of the band either (JMO).

I'd go with Sticky Fingers but Beggar's Banquet is 1A. |

The Stones have put out some bona fide clunkers over the years:
Got Live If You Want It (matter of fact, any live album except "Get Your Ya-Ya's Out" should be avoided, that goes 20 fold for "Still Life") Metamorphosis The 80's train wrecks :Emotional Rescue, Undercover, Dirty Work and Goat's Head Soup all come to mind right off the top of the head, still....for the length of career that the band has had, that's not too shabby at all, to say the least. |

Tatoo You was a solid record from the 80's. But Undercover, Harlem Shuffle, and those utterly tank-tastic Mick Jagger solo efforts were bannable offenses. Keith's solo record, Main Offender I think it's called, is decent.
Going To A Go-Go? WTF? |

Main Offender was a great album (I love it), most of that Xpensive Winos stuff far outshone the Stones to a point that it made you wonder where Richards primary focus was and where his choice material was really going. The less said of Jagger's solo stuff, the better. |

I don't know why, but these days I find the late 70s/early 80s records, e.g., "Tattoo You" and "Some Girls" more listenable.
BTW, "Coming Down Again" from "Goat's Head Soup" is one of my favorite Stones tunes of all time (you probably had to be there.) |

I don't know why, but Sticky Fingers was never one of my fave Stones albums. Make no mistake, it is a great album and a bona fide classic, but I just seem to reach for other Stones albums before that one when in the mood for the band.
