Tips for the GRE study study study, then study some more. I'm going to assume you have some of the GRE test prep books and such. Find some sample exams and take those as well. The more you prep and get your mind in exam taking mode the better off you will do. I scored in the 90th percentile on verbal, average on math, and got the highest score on the writing section.

90th percentile in verbal is like 700 thats great, thats where im having most my trouble, in most my practices i cant get about 450 on verbal, which is about average. there is just so many words, im studying the 515 top words list, which is barrons and kaplans top words list, and taking the GRE powerprep test a TON of times to get teh basics down. its gonna be tough though

You'll never know. I probably got lucky on my exam that I knew most of the words that were thrown my way. Sometimes it is just the luck of the draw on what questions the exam gives you. Then on the ones you don't know you just try your darndest to eliminate the obvious wrong answers.

thats why standardized testing is so stupid. i coudl take 3 tests and get 150 point swing depending on the questions i get, it really is more luck. i guess the thought is if i know everything im more likely to do better, but still it doesnt work that way completely.

Sounds painful. I'd get some antibiotics.
