Good stuff...definitely something to hang on to, especially for how you got it.

what a trip Spider. My dad also had a big VHS/DVD collection of the Duke I got when he passed away.

I watched Searchers, War Wagon, bunch of old stuff.

Makes me both happy and sad. That's something you just don't understand until you get a little older I guess. That you can be happy and sad at the same time.

I always loved the Duke and hated Bruce Dern and the movie Cowboys because of what happened to the big man. Guess you got them on DVD then, eh?

My dad was one of the first motel owners to bring porn to Colfax in the 70's.

He gave me the trunk of tapes about 12 years ago...lol

They are the old 3/4 inch thick tapes. I wonder if Mock is in any of them?

My favorite is Rio Bravo and Big Jake. Wayne was bigger then life for me growing up because he was my hero's hero.

I probably visited his shop when I was there in the early 70's. I lived right over by 225.

! I think you and millions of others feel the same way. I think Wayne only died in 3 movies but that one was personal. Bruce Dern was on the Tonight show a few years back when he was in some boxing movie and watching it just wanted me to chuck the tv. If I was at that taping, I would have yelled, "Bastard! You killed John Wayne!" I dont think he ever doesnt hear something like that at least once a week. Wayne movies were some of the best made and so many from the 30s to the early 70s. Walmart has the 3 movies pack cheap and great way to start or continue a collection. BTW: When Dale Earnhardt died, my Dad said, "i feel sick to my stomach just like when I found out John Wayne died."

That's my favorite also. The chemistry between Duke, Walter Brennan, and Dean Martin is outstanding, and Ricky Nelson fits in nicely as the young blood. A young Angie Dickenson wasn't too bad either!

Sorry...I just couldn't resist.

It was fun to slam around to it back in the day, for whatever that may be worth.
