Noice!
That video, as you probably know, is from the DVD "Frampton Comes Alive II." http://www.amazon.com/Peter-Frampton.../dp/B0009WIEDO I caught that tour in Denver in '95 - smokin!' The band featured PF, the late great Bob Mayo on keys/guitar/bu vox, John Regan on bass, and studio legend John "JR" Robinson on drums. |

I saw him on Soundatge maybe two years ago and he had a 6 or 7-piece band. Great show though. I gotta get that DVD, that Alive II DVD ... price is right |

I play guitar, but I'm certainly not a technical expert. What's with the pickups on Frampton's guitar? Looks like a friggin battleship!

In the workaday music world, you're more hire-able and a more valuable commodity if you have a few Les Pauls - some with humbuckers and some with P-90s.
It's like for some jobs you need a 3/4" wrench and for some you need 7/8." |

I'm not a Gibson historian, but if I remember correctly, the three pickup Custom was Gibson's attempt at an answer to the Fender Stratocaster (which was gaining in popularity at the time.)

And that might be the worst song/video ever made ...
Torture is a Fing understatement ... Those guys might as well raped our ears when putting out this crap and don't even get me started on how that video looks. |
