So the other day at Best Buy I was getting a hard drive, and I'm noodling around the place and see these cool-looking Bose headphones. I tried them on and not only did they sound great but they were the most COMFORTABLE headphones I've ever worn. I was blown away.
The only catch was the price - $139.99. I've found them cheaper online and might get a pair but I'm considering reviews. I've read a few that say they are overrated. I know Bose makes good stuff, but are they worth that much? Anyone here got a pair? |

I've been long in search of some great ear buds myself. I'm interested to see what people come up with here.

GET THESE! they are better, and about half the price. Sennheiser blows bose out of the water on earbuds.
http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...transid=502737 but if you were willing to spend the 139, get the sennheiser ones for 139, you will be AMAZED! |

I bought a pair of DENON AH-D1001 (New in Sealed Box) on Ebay for a little under 100 bucks. I love them, check the online reviews.

Bose is great if you have the money...$1,000 for a couple of speakers and $139 for a pair of head phones is just to expensive for my taste..but if i had the money..hell yea!!

You won't find any Bose gear in any pro settings. (Studios/post-sound, etc.)
Not saying they don't sound good in some cases, but they're consumer products. Meaning... the color the sound heavily. Most consumer products drastically change the sonic make-up of the audio. (Even some pro gear.) Depends what you want. If you want accuracy, look into the higher end Sony or Sennheiser models. If you just want something with giant bass and a hyped-up high end EQ curve, take your pick. Plenty out there. The somewhat ironic thing about spending $300 on a pair of consumer headphones is that people usually do it to listen to MP3's. MP3's are trash. They're fine for jogging or just trying to fit a lot of music on a player, but the quality is ****. Listening to them on $300 headphones is somewhat counterintuitive. My advice would be to get one of the Sony higher end models (I believe it's the AC line).... and try to find them with as flat of an eq curve as possible. Then, bring all of your music into your iPod in full rez. At least you're listening to the music the way the artists intended it to be listened to.... or close. |
