I still had a great time at the first running of the 200 under the lights and the motocross the next night. Was a fun weekend.
I went 8 years in a row until they stopped running superbikes. I haven't been back since.

I hear ya. That was the end of the 200 as a 'serious' race.

I drove these cars for 35 years. I still have not found anything on planet earth to replace the ride. I had a ZR-1 and it was boring. 330mph in 4.5 seconds, 8000 HP.

Well comparing the kawasaki to a 8000 hp dragster isn't really fair and if you found riding the Z1-R boring then sir your were not riding it right.

OT, but that guy was one of the most important people in the field of engineering ever. Nikola Tesla or however you spell it could have been an alien. He pretty much invented wireless communications. Nobody had a clue how to communicate through the air, but Tesla lept to it.

The Tesla Machine is still an intriguing possibility, nobody really understands it. The basic deal is, don't build a Tesla Machine, you won't understand it, and it will torch you.

It's too bad we live in the US with the 75 speed limit. What a waste of fine machinery.

You're a track guy, I have to pick and choose where I let it rip. I have some places where I know I can get up to 110 or so, but that's short stretches. Too bad for me, I guess. Too bad, before there was 300 million people in the USA, one could let 'er rip more often. But, that's how it goes.

Anybody have a Honda Hurricane CBR1000F?

I'm thinking about buying a 1988 model. Any advice?

I miss this thread. Here's a small update.

Bought this fairly unknown car back in Feb.

2008 Mazdaspeed 3. 263hp, can easily hang with STI's and Evo's from a roll. All in all its a sweet little machine. For a FWD car anyway, that's it's true downfall. But you can't beat the performance for the price.

And I finally got my '68 Mustang running.

And here's some pics from a car show my brothers and I were at. The mustang is a 2007 Roush 427. Belongs to one of my brothers. And the Porsche is a 2006 911 Carrera S belongs to my other brother. The Mazdaspeed is obviously mine.
