Actually, the older I get the more I see the value of nice clothing. Jeans and a tshirt dont work everywhere. Sometimes its good to dress up for the hell of it. You can even get into designer underwear.

Try clean, neat, good fitting (and no, that doesn't need to be "designer" either) ... Someone needs to bump the 200 jean thread again! !Last edited by Sassy; 02-22-2009 at 10:51 PM.. |

They may as well enjoy it now...they won't be spending that much money on clothes when other bills kick in...

I use to think my dad was funny when he talked about the younger generation. When did I get like him. Oh, well to each his own. I say bring back platforms, big bells and pooka shells.

if you look at the labels we are talking about, its not ridiculous priced name brand stuff, atleast not all of us. i would never, ever spend 200 dollars on jeans, but i will spend 70-80. i wont spend 70-80 on a shirt, but i will spend 50-60. these are modest price ranges when looking at quality shirts clothes...

Blue Jeans- Silver Tabs and Levis 569s
Under Shirts- Stafford T's (yes they are bit more expensive for plain white T-Shirts at around $20 for a three pack, but I have some that still do not have holes in them from 10+ years ago!) Dress Shirts- Nautica is quite reasonable now, Stafford makes nice shirts and you can find some decently priced Reaction (Kenneth Cole) shirts if you look. Casual shirts, jackets, hats, etc. (Denver Broncos team store!!!) |

I personally love the 40 year olds wearing all this trendy name brand stuff and strutting around the mall. Dude, you're 45 and have three kids...go home.
I wear Levi's myself and find them to be an excellent value for the money. T-shirts are a dime a dozen so there is no need to buy anything even close to $50 or more. Get some decent dress pants and shirts so you can look good for church and nicer get-togethers. I have some pretty good quality stuff and I haven't spent more than $50 on anything (including shoes) in the last fear years except for my suit and coat. |
