That was the Kopi and Kovalchuk show tonight at Staples Center.

Kopi had 4 points, scoring 2 goals and had 2 assists.

Kovie had 3 points, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist.

Frolov had 4 points.

Kings were down 4-1 in the 1st period, and came back to tie the game at 6 but ended up blowing it in the shoot-out. We get the one point.

Up next, the ****ing Ducks.

But hey, you called it that Therrien was on the verge of getting tossed, you're the man Ames.
The Crosby era
2 GM's
3 coaches
2 failed sales of the team
throwing the last game of the year to face the Sens first round
Palfy leaving the team
the Lemeiux re-retirement
LeClair and Recchi waived
Hossa signing with Detroit
Orpik saying he wouldn't return

Now they are in danger of not making the playoffs, in cap hell, have no high end prospects, and still can't find wingers to mesh with Sid. long live the NHL's version of al davis. You guys cant draft squat without a top five pick.

while youd probably win the argument that cindy, geno and stall are a little stronger then richards, carter and briere, no way in hell are your scrub wingers close to gagne, knuble, lupul, hartnell, giroux and upshall, well ok maybe they are close to upshall, but i dont think any of your wingers make the flyers top 9.

and that my friend is why you dont build a team where half the cap is tied up in 4 players, specially when 2 of then are soft, and one is a hit an miss goalie.

You are pretty full of ****.

We aren't in cap hell. See you guys can't have it both ways. You can't say they need to spend money on wingers, but not pay the talent they want to keep and not overspend on people that don't merit it.

You guys are just running on the pens, everyone knows it. Until you get your facts straight - you just keep looking like a douchebag.

take the yellow glasses offf dood

the cap that was brought in to save teams like the pens, its killin them, your gonna have to pick one of malkin or crosby, 18 mil in 2 players is just too much, im not saying that either dont deserve it, but you have to put cheap talent, which you guys dont have any of left, or scrubs out there with them. and hows that workin out for ya ?

exactly, as messed up as they are now, they woulda been worse with his contract and nobody else.

as i said you need cheap talent in a cap world, specially when you have 2 of the top players both in ability and pay on the same team. See sucking so long and getting all the top 5 picks wasnt such a great thign afterall was it.

and looking at your farm team when you dont pick top 5 you may as well use the blindfold and dart method, cuz everybody else sucks.

An i love it, couldnt happen to a nicer place.

side note the habs traded for schiender and told kovalev to stay home and sent one of the kosboobiesyn boys down to the minors. i dunno whos having a bigger freefall, the rags or the habs.

Yes your correct in saying our team has sucked since the cup loss. True. But I must correct you on one thing. Kings have never done a "rebuild" in it's franchises history. Only started once Dean Lombardi came onboard. Kings have ALWAYS traded away picks and assets for older veterans. Been the case for 35 years until Lombardi showed up. Did you know the Kings could have had Ray Bourque? Thanks to former GM George ****ing Maguire, it didn't happen because that tool traded away picks like there was no tomorrow.

I was a little surprised at the (Kings performances over the last) 15 years. That's been ... That was right after Wayne's year. I'm a big fan of that, coming from New England, and the Flyers and Roenick and all that, and working for Philly for my childhood idol (Clarke), and you just walk around Philadelphia ... the main thing, there's something there, you can't define it. So obviously there, a huge track record of success there, and they lit the fire and pass on the torch.

When I was looking at the teams that I was interested in going to, and interviewing (with the Kings), it was a negative early because I like those traditional things, but Wayne Gretzky told me, if you win there, there's nothing better in the world ... so there's positives and negatives. Wayne tried to do it as a player, and you know what, in the big picture too, I think the league needs L.A. Let's face it, the NBA was built on the Celtics-Lakers, and if you can ever get a L.A.-Gretzky show ... hockey as a whole was big ...

It's a huge challenge. So let's establish history instead of following history.

The point is however in saying the Ducks era is over. They just have a bunch of old guys, some which will be moved soon. Their new GM Bob Murray is about to blow it all up and start over. Pronger rumors are everywhere and they need to get rid of Giggy and that albatross of a contract. They are out of a playoff spot as of today, so their run is over.

im not disagreeing dood, i was just diggin, thanks to burke the ducks have nothing to rebuild with either,

id take pronger in philly if we could get him for a 3rd rounder or so, yeah i know hes dirty but so was hatcher, our D is too soft rigth now, im still kinda hoping hatcher gets better intime to play in the playoffs when cap dont count, we need the butcher.

nobody is worried about paying the price to run infront of the net, cobrun dosnt play his size and everybody else is just small, sbisa was probally won of our more physical D men an hes back in juniors now.

God damn it, I thought the Caps-Pens game was a 100 Mountain start for some reason, not 1030. Guess I'll have to settle for just the 3rd period.

"What I can say about him?" Ovechkin said. "He is a good player, but he talks too much."

And what does Crosby make of Ovechkin's showmanship?

"Like it or lump it, that's what he does," Crosby said. "Some people like it, some people don't. Personally, I don't like it."
Pens-Caps game are going to be so much fun for a long time.

Is anyone else excited for the Winter Olympics?

I guess I am because it won't be the same old guys like Roenick, Chelios, Modano etc. Instead we will see Stastny, Kane, Parise, Brown, Ryan Miller etc.

We'll see how they do against Canada and the Russia.

I think crosby needs a GF or a zen master.

He needs to relax. If he let the game come to him more - i think he'd have greater success.

It would not surprise me to see ryan whitney traded from the pens.

$4/mil a year for a big offensive D who can run the PP. He's young, i just think the pens are going to move a D for a W.

With goligoski & letang, i think whitney's contract makes him an affordable trade.

Down 3-0 to the stars? No Problem.

Kings roared back in the 3rd period and forced OT at 4-4. Then Handzus netting the GW and the hat trick!

Turco chokes AGAIN. Last year we beat the Stars when Kings were down 4-0, and Kings came back to score 5 goals in 5 minutes..later went on win at 6-5.
